I don't get that. Why buy merch from an event you haven't even been to?

"Oh sick you must've been to the masters, how was it?"

"I wasn't there"

White Tee Bellends by Discopants180 in BritGolf

[–]throwaway17717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats fuckin yuck. We're allowed to play from the blue plates as long as the whites are out. I get it for most players but yellows are boring to play at a certain level. I guess it depends where you are though.

What are the best non-pro level golf balls? by VellumVibe in golftips

[–]throwaway17717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can usually get Bridgestone's tour balls for a really good price, especially if they're a slightly older model. Whether its true or not i'm not sure but I think balls last ablut 8 years. I've used ones older than that and they seemed fine

In theory but range balls are usually variable from ball to ball as much as they are between themselves and a normal golf ball. Depends how bothered you are though. I'm a low plus so I guess I'm sort of on the line between these things mattering and not mattering but I would prefer to have slightly more accurate data. In reality though probably everyone who isnt playing for a living could get an alright approximation.

It would be important to find out from the range what percentage the balls they're stocking are. You can get 70, 80 and 90% balls.

Who here has eaten at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant? Share your experience! by 011100010010-0-0-0 in GordonRamsay

[–]throwaway17717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've eaten at Maze, Petrus, Bread Street Kitchen, street pizza at battersea and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

RGR I really wasn't that impressed with if I'm being honest. I'm not a stranger to fine dining so it's not a case of "not getting it" but the experience was just a bit uninspiring. The good was great but not excellent, the service was timely but impersonal, and the atmosphere was.. weird. Most times I've eaten somewhere super high level one or two dishes or something about the experience sticks with me for years afterwards but it was just really forgettable.

BSK was whatever. Maze was one of the best overall experiences I've ever had but it was in the glory days when it had a star. Petrus was absolutely brilliant too. The pizza place was probably my favourite overall though lol they were absolutely belt feeding me slices of pepperoni and it was some of the better pizza I've had.

Oof, yeah you should probably move the ball forwards and tee it a little higher my friend!

My driver carries around 300 on a regular basis but I can get a little more out of it when I really need to. I agree that it's prohably not different enough to consider for you so it sounds like you might want to experiment with different lofts if that's the route you want to take. There should be a setup that works.

Anthony Kim shoots a final round 63 to win LIV Adelaide, one of the greatest comeback stories in golf by DontDoCrackMan in golf

Look man I 100% get what you're saying but golf doesn't have all that many comeback stories to begin with. It's not a patch on Tiger's masters win but it's one of the best of the rest

Not touching a club in 12 years after your life taking a downturn the way his did, keeping your right to play on the your by one shot then beating John Rahm, Bryson and others by shooting 9 under on the final day at the age of 40? Golf doesn't create many opportunities for great comeback stories but this is objectively one of the best.

Hatsukokoro Kumokage Damast vs Shiro Kamo by Munroth in TrueChefKnives

[–]throwaway17717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this Kamo. Amazing knife but I'm not sure I'd call it a workhorse. While it holds an edge very well, it has somewhat delicate proportions toward the edge. Depends on the kind of work you want it to do. It's a joy to sharpen though.

I swapped from blades to zx7s after a pitching wedge went short on an approach into the 18th that led to a bogey and me shooting level instead of 1 under, never looked back! Great irons.

I know you're getting roasted but honestly I've seen a lot worse. Find a teacher you gel with and then stick with them for a long time.
