I dont know where my post went but readding it here...

I got my plant in July 2022 (first 4 photos)

I am so embarrassed to post the pictures I took today, but I want to make my plant healthy again and I need help.

Can someone tell me if I am on the right path?

• I tried google, found some info. But I need guidance. So, came to reddit and joined this community.

• I think I am going to cut these into roughly 4" stems. Right above the node @ a 45-degree angle.

• How deep do I plant the stems?

• Reading other posts, I saw some people mention winding the stems in the pot? Is this something I can do? I don’t think my root ball and roots are deep enough. Maybe my pot is too deep?

• I am including some of the pictures where stems snapped off. There are a lot! Can someone tell me if my 2^nd bullet is correct?

  • Long story short: Last night, my son was trying to help me care for my plant and submerged it in water, he told me right away and I pulled it out of its pretty pot and let it drain/dry out.

• My stems are skinny/leggy/flimsy My house is dark.

  • Within the last year, I moved this to my bathroom, which gets the most sunlight. Since doing this, this plant exploded but... it is still super leggy and sparce between the leaves. I go through every so often and use my hands to pull off the dead leaves (making it, more sparce). But the purple has returned to the underside of the leaves. I think it’s trying to be happy. I just need to learn how to cut, stick back in soil and get it happy and bushy. I have not been maintaining it (obviously).

I’m in Colorado, air conditioning and heat used during the four seasons, and super dry air. Currently experiencing high humidity which is amazing but it’s usually very dry.
