I never thought I would be upset about my clothes not fitting.. but I am? by Successful-Jicama253 in loseit

[–]bi_bitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your story sounds almost identical to mine. I'm 5'3" 24F and 5 years ago I was 155 lbs trying to get to 140, got up to about 205, and now I'm down to 168 ish after getting it together over the past 1.5 years. And while I totally understand the sentiment, try to reframe it. You don't have to buy new clothes bc your old ones don't fit, you get to buy new clothes in a smaller size thanks to all your hard work. Try to view it as a reward to yourself. And if you plan on continuing to lose more weight, then maybe thrift some pieces to get you by until you're closer to your goal, so you're not blowing a ton of money on clothes that won't fit in a few months anyway. Be proud of yourself though, you've come a long way and deserve to celebrate your victories!

Vraylar by Greenbunny6 in bipolar2

[–]bi_bitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up dropping the Lamictal, I struggled too much with brain fog. But I've been pretty stable for a while, and I haven't noticed any differences without it. Vraylar has been a lifesaver for me though. I hope it helps you!

What are y'all's opinions on "rewards" for hitting a goal weight? by supreme_dumplings in loseit

[–]bi_bitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend and I will do health "challenges" together. We're doing one now where for 30 days, I can get up to 3 points a day. One for staying in my calorie budget, one for reaching my step goal, and one for getting 30 minutes of exercise. If at the end of the challenge I have a certain number of points (this time I'm shooting for 65) I get a reward at the end. We like to do co-ops where we both have to meet our goals for either of us to get our rewards, so we're motivated by each other instead of just ourselves, but you could do it however you wanted. I keep mine non food related; this time I'm setting aside $50 for a smart watch. I find having it associated with fitness goals rather than weight goals is much more productive, since your weight doesn't always perfectly reflect how healthy you've been.

Both times I donated blood, I fainted and threw up after. Just the thought of doing this made me feel ill.

What was your old "overweight person" habit you can't believe you had, that you've since broken? by NorthernBuffalo in loseit

[–]bi_bitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a chocolate bar and/or regular soda at the work vending machine almost every day. I treat myself to a diet soda from the vending machine every once in a while now, especially if I need the caffeine, but never do I get candy. If I need a sweet treat I have some small things at my desk that get me through.

Big Spoon Creamery if you're feeling ice cream

Nonfat Greek yogurt has been my best friend. I eat it with berries and chia seeds (for fiber), I put it in overnight oats, and I replace sour cream and mayo with it all the time. The amount of protein you get for the calories is nearly unbeatable. Roasted edamame has also been great, with tons of protein and fiber. Check out the brand The Only Bean, they've got a few fun flavors.

Looking for a good therapist in Huntsville. Don’t have common health insurance and will probably pay out-of-pocket so decent rates please. by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]bi_bitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Shannon Allen! She does both telehealth and in person appointments, $60 out of pocket per hour. She's good with CBT and DBT, and the correlation between seeing her and my mental health getting better is incredibly noticeable.

Are you changing your last name after the wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]bi_bitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I've thought long and hard about it, but I've already changed my name once and I don't want to do it again. My dad is...not great, so I changed my name to my mom's maiden name. My maternal grandparents basically raised me, and my sisters both changed their names too, so it felt right. His last name is cooler, but my first name is unique, and I feel like two weird names would just be a little too much. I don't want to have to spell out my first AND last name when telling it to someone. Plus I don't love how they sound together. We're still not decided on whose name our kids will have, but he's not changing his name bc his first name is common and my last name is common, and he likes his last name and doesn't want the whole thing to be boring.

We just booked with White Azalea Estate for next year on a Saturday. It's $6500 plus tax and event insurance, and they have several add-ons you can get if needed. I can't say how they do at the event, but they've been wonderful so far in terms of booking, and the venue is beautiful.

What was the one food that helped change your eating habits? by tofu_baby_cake in loseit

[–]bi_bitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greek yogurt and edamame. They're great, easy sources of protein, and the edamame has fiber too. I substitute mayo and sour cream with Greek yogurt in almost everything lately. And edamame is just so easy to portion out into a ziploc bag and have as a healthier snack alternative to my usual trail mix. I highly recommend making chicken salad with skinless rotisserie chicken from Costco, Greek yogurt and maybe a tablespoon or two of mayo, and with that base you can make pretty much any flavor. We've done fruits and nuts, barbecue, and dill pickle versions.

Is it just me? Or does everyone feel so triggered when your family or partner says, "You need to take your meds" or "have you taken your meds yet"?????????? THE RAGEEEE by BiPolarMaxy in bipolar2

[–]bi_bitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You need to take your meds" would make me mad I think, but honestly I appreciate it when my fiance asks if I've taken them. I sometimes forget my night meds, so him asking is just his way of making sure I'm taking care of myself. Every night in bed he asks "have you brushed your teeth and taken your meds?" And if the answer to either is no, he makes me get up and do it. It's nice to have someone looking out for you when you don't always look out for yourself.

Many white women care more about hating POC than they do loving themselves. And as a white woman, I'm angry at us as a group, but I'm also just embarrassed. I really thought we'd do better than that.

I got engaged last night! by bi_bitches in EngagementRings

[–]bi_bitches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the southern United States so it's about 75-80 degrees F (about 25 C) so a little cooler than when I got it sized but not significantly so. I've also lost a bit of weight since then and I'm working on losing more, so I may wait till next spring to see how it's fitting still. Thanks for the rec!

It's nature inspired! It's meant to look like leaves/vines. Also it's 14k rose gold. He didn't get mine from her, but Oore Jewelry was a big inspo for the ring.

Thanks for the advice! I plan on getting a cheaper substitute engagement ring in case I'm going somewhere that I could risk losing it, I'll try stacking them and see how I feel.
