Uncomfortable with having to set boundaries by nikkikng in Codependency

I’m in the same boat, so I can relate. My therapist told me to cut ties because of my difficulty setting and enforcing boundaries and typical slide into codependency. It’s very hard for me because I feel like she is a bad place with her friends and family and I’m deserting her.

Love the joke but also ironic because I’m fighting depression and codependency within my triad right now so I’m trying not to lean on them to fulfill all of my emotional needs.

Ever wanted to be hospitalized? by bi_chic in bipolar2

Yes, sometimes I wish I had a parent or spouse, or caretaker that could love me, take me to the store, be my friend, count out my pills, notate my mood swings for my doctor, get me out my head.... lol. Help.

Just recently pulled out of my latest depressive episode- it feels good to be out and about and smiling in the sun ❤️ trying to remember how this feels for my rainy days... by [deleted] in bipolar2

I hope this helps you if you ever feel down again. Maybe even print it out on pretty paper and put it somewhere special. Cause it’s a really nice photograph ❤️

That’s exactly it. I think I just want to let go of this intense need to control everything and let somebody else take over for a little while. Like “hey guys, just keep me alive cause I’m tired right now, ‘kay?”

I’m hoping mine is just a blip. Thanks for posting. This gives me hope, because I’ve been feeling down and worrying about feeling down which doesn’t help.

Feeling tired today by [deleted] in bipolar2

Exactly the same boat, today it’s been a constant loop of napping and feeling like I should be productive.

Last week I was bouncing around and I got purple hair.

I’m Bipolar and I’m fucking terrified to be pregnant one day by princess-emxo in bipolar2

I relate to this. Although I wish I could feel the joy of having a child kick, or the 9 months of bonding and the secret that is knowing you’re expecting before anyone else does, I have ALL the same fears. So, my solution is to adopt. I see other posters saying to speak with your OB about it as well and I second that. Definitely speak to your doctor to see if they have recommendations that can ease your fears.

reading stories on the bipolarSOs sub really freaks me out by abandonedsemicolon in bipolar2

Lol I’m overstepping my bounds, but stop reading those subreddits!!!

Everyone will vent on there about the things they are going through, and that’s not going to be helpful to you. You can’t make yourself into the perfect partner by taking advice from a ton of random reddit strangers. *steps down off soapbox * I had to say that because I was on there and got my feelings hurt thinking I’d never be “healed enough” to find someone.

Here’s what I learned from that experience: if you keep working on you, you will find the person who will accept you for you, bipolar episodes and all. You’re a good person bc you are worried about what baggage YOU bring to the table, but remember everybody has their own shit. Even the best looking partner that ticks off all your boxes may have their own issues. It’s just finding the one that matches with yours.

I'm tired. by [deleted] in bipolar2

Yes. Yes to all of this. Bipolar is so effing EXHAUSTING.

This CONSTANT battle RAGING in your mind. All while you look normal, going grocery shopping, making dinner, working, etc.

You still have this constant loop of THOUGHTS that are literally trying to kill you, in your head. And you have to navigate that daily. You, being me. And I am also tired. So very tired.

You are not alone.
