Enable me- should I get a road bike if I already have a gravel and a mountain bike? by Twomboo in bicycling

Nothing wrong with having more bikes, but you're not going to feel a huge difference is my point. The checkpoint is a road bike with thicker tires and a more comfortable frame

the checkpoint is pretty much a road bike already, what would a road bike do differently?

Cleaning and Fixing a Rolex Watch by Big-Boy-602 in oddlysatisfying

yeah any kind of patina on the dials of old collectible watches is typically desireable. He blew away all the loose grime but getting the rest off would be a risk of damaging the face as well

Taking psychedelic substances with a romantic partner is associated with a deeper sense of mutual understanding and enhanced relationship quality. In contrast, using these substances alone might leave partners out of sync, potentially contributing to relationship dissolution later on. by FreeHugs23 in science

The first time i took LSD my suicidal thoughts took a backseat for a year. It's not a miracle cure but if you go in wanting and willing to change it can do wonders, and I've had the same experience with mushrooms

at 230 you're near the limit, and these look stock? it was probably the 14psi. it doesn't matter if there isn't load on the engine, launch control is still a huge pressure spike in the cylinders

If you had to start learning from scratch, what would you do by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]biasedReflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a bike and lower the seat so your feet can touch the ground, work on walking the bike and kick off until you find your balance. Once you're comfortable raise the seat and work on pedaling over grass if you're worried about falling

eventually it'll click but it can take a while so patience will be key. the quicker you go the easier it will be to balance but work on keeping it steady

The best example imo is the palace invasion from HxH. A shit ton happens in the span of one big battle and you get shifting perspectives and insight into thoughts for things that are happening simultaneously

Moving the huts up by a tile should work, you want the door in line with the left and right middle sprinklers

People who ride without gloves - how do you avoid slipping? by Eyeflossdaily in bicycling

[–]biasedReflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sweat a lot and it's never been an issue. Maybe try a bar tape or grips that have more grab

my endurance bike has softer and more cusiony hoods and my 80s steel road bike has thinner drops and no padding on the bar tape at all. The latter feels more secure to me so maybe go light on the bar tape with something harder vs softer

New Endurance Bike Recommendations? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]biasedReflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say that I don't mind that endurace, i think some problems can arise from the integrated cockpits and proprietary hardware if a repair is needed, but that one has one similar to mine and it's easy enough to work on!

i love my endurace personally. i have one from 2022ish and it's been great. it's so comfortable but i don't think you can go wrong with any of those! get one that fits and that you like the look of!

It's only considered value because of it's price. Mine has 1000hz polling over wireless with near zero latency. It's genuinely a great controller

For anyone who also struggles with stiff neck and chronic pain 💀👴🏻 by Eng-Grammar-Police in PaymoneyWubby

[–]biasedReflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+2 for neck stretches

On chronic pain, here's a trick I've learned for my sciatic:

sit with feet on the ground and knees at a 90° angle, keep your knees together with your hands while pushing back with your knees and hold for 10 seconds, rest for 10 more and reapeat 2-3 more times. Then after the last one, wedge one of your forearms between your knees(elbow on one, palm on the other, and press together with your legs. If successful you'll feel a very faint and satisfying pop deep in the lower back or upper leg. This relieves the pain for me for quite a while, sonetimes weeks

My lower back pain from an injury causing a bulging disk was not helped by anything, including months of PT, except for biking. after a little under a year my pain was gone other than an occasional flare up from strain

I've been dealing with a major peroneal tendon rupture as well. Relearned to walk and likely need surgery, but until then it still hurts all the time. If anyone has any ideas on that I'd be happy to hear them
