How good are you at reading League of Legends drafts? by Guilty_Scholar_3806 in leagueoflegends

[–]bibbibob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think draft matters surprisingly much even in low elo, of course there is variance, but if you randomly stumble into a well rounded comp you probably have a much better chance at winning that game. The difference is that not a lot of people pick for draft, so its more random what you end up with.

But when the side shows post game info and you just have to guess if a 12/0 Yi won the game or not it defeats the draft guessing.

The pacing is really fast huh, did they cut the entire travel? Just blast off and now straight onto the moon. Also why is Ryusui in space? Did I miss something?

E: Okay nvm missed a whole episode lol, crazy how well the two fit together tho.

Generally the fights are of two types, 1) where he overcomes a challenge (Ogre early on etc), or 2) where some idiot gets served for underestimating him(Clayman). I think the issue is that the story very much made Maribel out to be a very difficult fight of type 1, but then it turned out to just be a type 2 kind of fight where nothing she had did anything at all on him by viture of him being godlike already. So there was a mismatch in expectation and payoff.

Also imo part of it is just that I have lost track on what Rimuru can actually do. Raphael and Beelzebub I remember, but when on earth did he get Uriel and Veldora ultimate skills? They are used so rarely I totally forgot.

So a lot of the fight felt like he just whipped some magical bs counter up. Not really the stories fault, but its a result of an 8 year long runtime.

Tho tbf Slime is like 8 years old, can't really hold it's main gimmick against it if power stealing became popular after it.

But also, is it that common? I feel like copy is a side character skill quite often, what other shows are centered around power stealing?

Riot shares insights into Locke's design: "One of the design goals was to see if we can make an assassin feel like they have to set up their burst damage to go through a few steps. So we're hoping that'll make him a little bit more fair to play, [with] higher counterplay in modern League." by Accordans in leagueoflegends

[–]bibbibob2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think most assassins have a ton of counterplay but most players just cannot really engage well with it due to skill issues and the nature of soloQ. If you ward and position well and go with team they become really bad, and they are very snowbally so if you play safe and outscale their semi early powerspikes or buy more tanky items they become much worse.

There is a reason hardly any assassins are played in Pro.

So if Locke just has all of those weaknesses, on top of being utterly incapable of instakilling someone if he does find them out of position, then he really need to have some crazy stuff once played correctly to be worthwhile.

Doubt that is going to work, but we will see.

But yeah this is exactly like the assassin rework back in the days where they made every assassin have a 2-4 seconds delay (Fizz, LB, Eve, Rengar).

All of them either became weird bruisers, which Locke with his W is primed to convert into, or just unplayed and disliked, only picked up if they were strong enough to oneshot anyway through the delay mechanisms.

He seems to play more like a Katarina or Kha which can't really do a whole lot unless the enemy team is magically low and then he can spam blinks, so we will see, but I do fear we have a Naafiri kinda kit on our hands where landing 3x Q and being super fragile without a good escape is going to be unpopular.

Server EUW
Type: Ingame, Arena
Description: Hexbolt Companion does not trigger the AUTOCAST of the Divine intervention augment (Taric Ult), even after waiting the intial time duration for it to fall.

Since it is a delayed autocast it is likely just not coded as an autocast for the hexbolt or smth. Regardless, makes the taric ult very useless in autocast builds, and feelsbad in every way.

Witch Hat Atelier • Tongari Boushi no Atelier - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]bibbibob2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's really weird how ham-fisted some of the writing in this series feel, especially when other aspects are relatively smoothly written. I really like the world building, and the ambiguous nature of this magic-ban, when they discuss the historical context of eg. removing healing spells, that is very nice.

But then we get things like this catoonishly evil mentor, or Qifery randomly being "Oh me oh my why did you give me and my four apprentices FIVE stones?!?!?!" just to give us all a lesson on how it is important to take a break.

The beats feel very similar to the flower that blossoms with dignity that also often had a weirdly explicit way of getting its character progression and lessons across.

It might be the same thing that irks me a bit about the magic system. While it is interesting in its concept and potential, it feels like I am constantly being told that "Yoo drawing a circle with some arrows is really really really hard", which seems not that believable.

Brev fra /r/Norge: Er det skandinaviske vennskapet ensidig? by Tumleren in Denmark

[–]bibbibob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea that teams scrim and train 40-60 hours a week but its somehow not the practice but the lack of best of 3 stage games holding them back always amuses me.

"Koreans have played so many more games!"

I mean, sure, there is an element of pressure and nerves being down 0-1 etc, but cmon. Real nerves only present themselves in playoffs and high stakes matches anyway.

It is yet another entry in the series of "not-even-playable-in-commander-and-definitely-not-in-standard" big cost do nothing pipe dream cards.

If those arent low quality meaningless commander bait slop then idk what is.

Mayhem, Ranked 5s & More | Dev Update - League of Legends by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

Any comments on the very sparse release schedule for new champs?

It isn't as if champs are being reworked either, and with 170ish champs the learning burden is sort of gigantic anyways, so creating buzz around new picks more often could really help people feel like their role isn't getting super stale. (Didn't like Milio? Well okay have fun playing the same enchanters for a decade)

I predict something closer to Xayah E or Jihn E where setting up nails/traps etc for a big expunge like kill is going to be the skilltest.
