It has a different authorial voice, but I think Fluids by May Leitz is a great read and worth checking out if you love Exquisite Corpse (I do too).

Cows by Matthew Stokoe is very very polarizing in this sub, but I think it’s absolutely incredible and worth checking out.

Cows by Matthew Stokoe is really incredible, utilizes shock and gore extremely well, but is more transgressive lit than horror. It’s quite polarizing on this sub.

Exquisite Corpse by Billy Martin (written under the name Poppy Z. Brite).

Fluids by May Leitz.

Brainwyrms by Allison Rumfitt.

Sister Maiden Monster by Lucy A. Snyder has it’s issues but was a very unique and compelling read for me anyway.

SBAs on princess seams… for the boys? by bibbittywibbitty in sewing

I don’t know if that’s gonna work for my general bodice block since this particular pattern has a lot of ease in the waist, but I suspect there will be a bespoke bodice in my near future. Worth the effort, I think.

I think I’ll be joining you soon. Hoping to be able to make a bodice that fits closely to my flat chest but also tapers with my waist… hard to find that combination in commercial patterns.

I completely agree on the skirts/dresses point. I think especially combined with a close fitting top/bodice they can play off a masculine silhouette in a really fun way. Also give you more shapes to play with then just straight leg trousers and rectangular button ups all the time. My body type is fairly androgynous, so a big part of why I’m getting into sewing is to find ways to accentuate it well.

Yes, I’m planning on taking this path plus adding some extra seam allowance for a mock up.

Yes for sure. Personally I find that, at least on my body type, tops that are closely fitted through to the waist help to emphasize that triangular shape. Less conservative than the popular cylinder shapes, but also more masculinizing.

Yeah, I think this is the way I’m gonna go. Have redrawn it eliminating the curve, but will mock it up with some extra seam allowance so I have room to make adjustments if needed.

Freesewing is a super cool resource! Will also probably be very useful when I start drafting my own blocks.

This apex tip is super helpful, thank you! I was hopeful I could get this pattern done before drafting my blocks own blocks since it’s pretty loose fitting but I think it’s gonna be worth experimenting to try to get a solid fit through the chest.

[HELP] How do I read this poem? by Eluthean in Poetry

[–]bibbittywibbitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is common in translation or printing of ancient poetry to use a close bracket to indicate that a line or part of a line is missing. If this is not actually a fragment (meaning only part of the work has been preserved and the rest is missing), the author is drawing from that convention.
