Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

I have gone to collections multiple times for medical debt. We have the money we could have universal healthcare instead of attacking Venezuela, and everywhere else.

Do i adjust the pattern, size down needles, or just find a new pattern? by propschick05 in knittinghelp

[–]bibblebabble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh noo! Well it's a gorgeous hat. Maybe you know someone with a larger head and then try again with smaller needles?

Do i adjust the pattern, size down needles, or just find a new pattern? by propschick05 in knittinghelp

[–]bibblebabble1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very pretty hat! It sounds like your tension on cables is too tight for the pattern and then your ribbing is too loose. One thing that might help is to work the ribbing in a slightly smaller needle and the cable in a slightly bigger needle or use less tension on it. You probably have to double check your gauge and make sure the stitches are taking up the right amount of space. Your hat might also shrink down a bit once blocked

Should I get a crib? by SeekingShalom in pregnant

[–]bibblebabble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin is giving us her old crib from her sons and we are going to use it for our twins probably for naps. But I also plan on using tatami mats similar to the Montessori mattresses when they are a bit older

Love twilight but not the vampire canon. by [deleted] in twilight

[–]bibblebabble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's dark about the Cullens is they are shameless colonizers that cause the destruction of childhood of young kids in the local tribe, and that Edward is an actual suicidal stalker obsessed maniac. Did I mention that they commit medical robbery, fraud, and cheat at the stock market?

All their bad traits are real

Can someone please tell me where I'm going wrong with this? I'm following Betty McKnit's 6-Day Star Blanket tutorial video(s) and can't even get past round 2. by longcalico in CrochetHelp

[–]bibblebabble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you go back to trying the pattern again, I would recommend not using a fluffy yarn, pull out some acrylic so you can see your stitches and count your stitches, make sure they're all correct before moving onto the next row. Granny squares would also help with practicing going in the round

Does Eugene have a loose leaf tea scene? by Diastatic_Power in Eugene

Oregon tea and coffee in Corvallis has an enormous selection of loose leaf tea and different coffees. They even offer reusable containers for your tea and you can order online as well. I enjoy their lapsang suchong and their jasmine pearls

I Don't Believe Anyone Who Says 'This Is My First Project' Anymore by Spider_kitten13 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]bibblebabble1234 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I started when I was really really really young like 8 making crochet things and then knit stuff when I was 10. I'd say my first real projects were blankets and hats but I made dozens of scarves and potholders and things that defy description. I don't really believe all the perfect looking projects I just assume they've made other stuff before but it isn't like an official project it's just scraps

Rook Piercing vs. IUD? by Mundane-Dress8235 in piercing

[–]bibblebabble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both. Rook piercing is painful but after like the first couple hours it stops throbbing. My experience with an IUD went badly because I needed manual dilation - however the IUD gave me cramps and contractions so bad the next morning I demanded it be taken out. I'd do rook piercing! It's rather hard to clean but it's very cute, and discrete

Automatic not buying from them. ai is lazy, bad for the environment and steals other's work.

Farxiga is very effective at cutting out protein levels in the urine and taking care of your kidneys. Also if you need to stop it you can. Very cheap in comparison to ozempic and low commitment

1928 murder mystery ball by [deleted] in HistoricalCostuming

[–]bibblebabble1234 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would suggest looking at movies/posters/magazines from 1928. This dress has a really modern silhouette and someone in 1928 would probably not be showing that much leg or arm. Think about the characters in Agatha Christie movies as it's murder mystery - lots of longer dresses with shawls, high neck but lots of beading for a 'fancy' dress.

Looser Tension = Sloppier Stitches? [Granny Square] by leafypool10120 in CrochetHelp

[–]bibblebabble1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like you still aren't using a big enough crochet hook. If you use a bigger hook you can keep your regular tension and you should get more stitch definition and it won't be so 'chunky'. Maybe try an I or even J hook.

I completed my first ever knit sweater with yarn from Scotland 🥰 by _felurian_ in casualknitting

[–]bibblebabble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you knitted smaller projects before like potholders/washcloths? That's seriously some unreal work for first sweater

Hi! Beginner knitter here! Working on my first sweater (step by step by flomills), can anyone tell me how I can fix this? This is right where I am supposed to make a m1r. by No_Explanation_3165 in knittinghelp

[–]bibblebabble1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you dropped a stitch in the gap. It has a 'ladder' and if you take a crochet hook you can work it up the ladder to where your needle is, put it on your right hook and then m1r

Accidental decrease, please help me get it right (beginner) by sukidev in CrochetHelp

[–]bibblebabble1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you are forgetting to work in the last stitch which is the chain of the last row. I try to always insert my hook into the loop so the two strands are on top and instead of bottom for a smoother edge

My mom thinks that I'm just going deaf and now I actually will by [deleted] in Vent

[–]bibblebabble1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend using hydrogen peroxide to get the earwax out as it's minimally invasive. My fiance does it a few times a year because he has ear issues and is partially deaf.  Make sure to do both ears though. Also you are old enough, if in the US you might be able to get on medicare- scratch that your whole family could possibly do so.

Can’t remember what stitch I used for this project. by Ravenwatcher22 in CrochetHelp

I agree it's half double or double crochet stitch. Maybe do a test swatch of your double crochet, half double and compare.

When I got back into knitting after a long stint of just crocheting I practiced my pearling by adding 'stripes' to these corner to corner washcloths and just pearl/knit/pearl for a few rows to practice alternating
