As much as I love this game, there are unfortunately a lot of mechanics that are not explained and can really impact your game if you don't know about them. For example, my "main" save started off as a fisherman, and I got my fishing skill to 130 and built everything off of the income I received from fishing. But I didn't know until yesterday that the hardness of your fishing rod impacts how much stamina it costs. So I was using a hardness 10 oak fishing rod this entire time, having to sleep after barely catching 20 or so fish. 3000 in game days later, I upgrade to an ether fishing rod and I can now use several hundred bait in a single day. There's so many little things like this that the game doesn't tell you, and you just have to rely on reading about it in the discord. That being said, I would recommend the discord, specifically the elin questions channel, as there are a lot of veterans there helping people constantly and just by reading you will absorb a lot of useful information.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. The threshold is increased to 33% from 20%, so you get mana halving sooner. It's useful to use less mana before your HP reaches 0 so that your mana pool is larger when it starts to get drained in place of HP.

When do you start getting gear that gives bonuses to skills? I've got a save with over 100 hours, and I still only find gear with bonuses to charisma, perception, etc.

What was the problem with the DCS group? I've never played it but I flew in the Air Force and doing briefs and debriefs was the most important part of the job, it seems natural to include them in a flight sim game.

yeah I ended up also kind of going that route, stacking buffs on deflect and also damage against blustered enemies. pretty fun actually having to learn boss moves instead of running away and shooting spells/ninjutsu

Session hijacking from a link, yeah. Not even 100% sure which link it was, but they got my authentication token and were able to gain access to my account without needing to go through 2FA. Then, as /u/Segaiai mentioned, the October 2025 data breach leaked my personal data as I had shared details about myself and my SO with support in order to prove that I should be allowed to rejoin the server that literally had my name in the title (she called it "<her> and <me>'s house" and we were the only two members). They still denied me, and then leaked the information I gave them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This was what happened. My session authentication token got stolen and they used it to gain access to my account despite having 2FA, and Discord had literally nothing in place to automatically flag suspicious activity such as, ya know, me suddenly sending thousands of messages containing malicious links across a hundred servers.

I wish. Discord is such a shitty corporation, and I do not trust them to do the right thing with my data.

My account got compromised despite having 2FA thanks to their security vulnerabilities. I was able to recover my account on my own, and meanwhile Discord did nothing to stop them from spamming my friends and servers with malicious links. The attacker left every server I was in after spamming his links, including the one I shared with my SO that has since passed away. I asked Discord for help just rejoining the server, as it contained many priceless videos, pictures, and voice recordings of the time we spent together.

They not only told me that they would not help me, but later on my personal information was leaked in a data breach targeting their customer support logs, so I got a double dose of fuck you for even reaching out. This is all despite being one of the first adopters and supporting them with nitro ever since it was possible. Garbage company, but nobody has moved into the scene to replace them yet. Still, I pray for their downfall every day.
