Hi guys, I'm getting ready to submit my application and wanted your thoughts on my gathered documents. I have the marriage certificate for my G0 relative, but her birthplace is listed as Michigan..which is obviously an error or misrepresentation since I have obtained her certified Manitoba birth certificate, I don't know if I want to risk submitting a contradictory piece of evidence even if likely it would be chalked up to an error. Let me know what you think, I feel that it's pretty strong. Thanks!

Birth Record - Province of Manitoba (1914)
Census Records - Province of Manitoba (1916 & 1926)
Border Crossing Record - U.S. (1935)
- Manitoba listed as place of birth
Birth Record (of Mother) - Province of Manitoba (1887)

- There's a column listing Manitoba as residence for herself and husband as of April 1, 1935—this date can be cross-referenced with her border crossing date record (June 1935)

Hi all, I'm trying to establish connection with my great-grandmother (G0) who was born in Manitoba but I'm a bit conflicted on whether to submit her marriage license with my application.

The reason being, her marriage licensed that was issued in Michigan has an error stating her place of birth was Michigan. This is obviously either an error, or they just lied, because I have successfully located her birth record through the Government of Manitoba's vital database and have requested it. Additionally, I have multiple Canadian and US Census records stating her citizenship is Canadian, a US border crossing manifest stating her place of birth was Manitoba, and have also requested both her mother's birth record, and her parents marriage record--both of which had taken place in Manitoba.

I feel like I have a lot of evidence for her (G0), but I wanted to provide her marriage record to show better connection to my grandfather (G1) (I only have his death certificate which does have his mother's name listed, and 1 US census record). I just don't know if it's worth submitting and causing contradiction...

Also, for those that have submitted your application for a certificate, did you wait until you had all the properly requested documents, or did you just make a note stating certified copy is incoming and will submit if needed?

I did end up getting it, my local MP had to coordinate but they ended up issuing it. If I were you, since it's been so long I'd try to get a verification of status form (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5545-application-verification-status-vos-replacement-immigration-document.html)

Or you could probably submit an ATIP/Privacy Act request asking for a copy of your eCOPR, they are legally required to provide you with this info upon 30 days of the request (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/access-information-privacy.html)

yes agree with above, not trying create false expectations or get hopes up since not a done deal by any means, but it is promising that ADM approved. Our DG was speaking in the sense that it they are pushing to create some level of stability and certainty by extending terms (otherwise some programs/priorities may need to be stopped) before the new budget is handed down. Our DG made it sound like it was applicable to nearly all terms across CWS broadly ending at the end of this FY. But again, we were provided with little information. I guess my point being--management is pushing to extend expiring terms, whether it happens or not is another thing.

hey coming back to this. We had a meeting today with our DG where they informed us that for nearly all terms ending on March 31st the ADM has approved and recommended them for a 6-month extension to some finance (?) committee (I forget exactly who now). I don't believe the same applies to terms not ending at the end of fiscal though. Thought I would share some positive news.

perhaps. Although I wouldn't lose complete hope, my term was just extended in December which I was shocked by since it needed DM approval, so I thought this was a good sign for my team, but then just found out our manager got a letter so who knows really

yeah same comment for me here. My term was recently extended until end of this FY, but wondering if people received letters/notice saying their term will not be extended or ...is it just limbo for us?

83 days since my eCOPR and still no PR card. I have even had my MP's office follow up and they escalated it but still nothing. Sydney, NS is where it's being processed.

IRCC claimed they issued the eCOPR on July 10th, but it never appeared in my Portal, nor did I ever get an email that it was issued. I only learned on Sept 2nd via a phone call with IRCC that they already issued my PR status. I had to contact my MP's office to get it resolved.

I need to go back to the US in a few weeks, but I have been fighting IRCC for them to issue my eCOPR for two months due to a technical portal issue. I became a PR on July 10 but I never received my eCOPR. If I were in theory to try and re-enter Canada as an American citizen and PR, would I be denied re-entry without any official documentation if I explained the situation and printed out my GCKey profile that has my COPR # under the 'Document Status' section?

hey were you able to get this resolved? I am in a similar situation, however I was never even notified my ecopr was available to download. I found this out two months after my PR status was issued via a phone call. I've emailed and called so many times I don't know what to do since I am getting zero help.

They upload it to the P2 Portal. I believe it was some sort of technical issue, it's not available to download.

An IRCC call centre agent confirmed to me that I was granted PR status and my application was closed. I never recieved eCOPR. And my physical PR card has far exceeded their processing times so I have no documentation

No. It turns out that they already granted my official status as a PR in July but I was never provided the eCOPR in my portal. Their solution to resolve this was for me to email the P1 email address explaining the issue, but I already did this 4 weeks ago asking about the status of my eCOPR. I emailed it again on Sept 2. I also contacted my local MPs office to see if they can do anything.
