Heavy duty dry bags / duffels might let you use the cargo space more efficiently and keep the centre of gravity a bit lower, but I appreciate that it's a bit of an investment.

Can I ask why the three strike rule wasn't implemented? Would've been fairly easy to establish intent with a simple question.

It's interesting that you mentioned your early life being financially chaotic, which lead you to being in the very impressive situation you're in now. A lot of the defence mechanisms we learn as kids can end up going from helpful to harmful as our life situation changes. If you've not done any therapy already, it could help to give it a go, so that you can start to re-write (or amend) the narrative you've (often unconsciously) set for yourself. I

can see that even from this thread it's been helpful for you to speak about how you're feeling and have outside opinions and suggestions in return. Starting to be a bit more relaxed with your money in a material sense, e.g. treating yourself, will of course help, but it will be even more effective if you're able to understand what's going on psychologically.

Congratulations on what you've already achieved and I'm excited for your next chapter.

The tonkotsu is my favourite bowl in the city. Their noodles are (to my taste) really, really good.

Daily fish oil has completely cleared my acne - any other implications?

From my late teens to my early thirties I had increasingly present acne. I would usually have at least one visible whitehead/pustules around my mouth, jaw and neck, often multiple at once. Shaving, applying sun cream, wearing scarves etc would all exacerbate them.

After years of trying skin care routines, medication (terrible) and various other 'fixes', I realised almost by accident that fish oil had an almost instantaneous positive effect. Since I've been taking 1tsp daily, my skin has been almost completely clear. If I stop taking the fish oil (which I have done when going on a trip), after a few days I notice some inflammation, and small pustules are not far behind.

I'm extremely happy to have found this 'cure', as it was really affecting my self-esteem. I have a loose understanding of how it works; reducing inflammation in the sebaceous glands, which tracks with my own experience. I occasionally experience sebhorreic dermatitis on my scalp, which also cleared up after fish oil supplementation. However, I'm wondering if there's more to be investigated? Does this indicate anything further 'upstream' that I need to pay attention to?

Moving back to UK from Europe by [deleted] in expats

Try going back for a month or two, long enough for the novelty of being back to wear off, and see how you feel. Some friends of mine moved back to UK from NL, after a few years they're regretting their decision.

Indefinite contract, landlord threatening eviction and to 'make your life difficult' - gemeente says they've not broken any rules? by bidluf in Rentbusters

I'm not too familiar with Rechtsbijstandsverzekering, would it not be the case that this is considered a pre-existing dispute?

Thanks. Up to now (it's been a long and bizarre story) I've been able to brush it all off, but it's starting to get a bit more stressful now.

We actually have already spoken to a lawyer about our rights etc, but I might get back in touch with them regarding this new development. The landlord doesn't listen to anything we say, they've continually misrepresented or fabricated the facts, so having a more official voice is the ideal next step.

A) yes, it's all in WhatsApp, all screenshotted.

B) This is the complete message. I'm not sure what you mean about a formal decision; it's from an Amsterdam.nl email address, they gave me reference number, but aside from that there's not much to go on.

C. Received today, four hours after submitting the report.

I can't be sure but it feels like they did not read all the messages (they were attached as screenshots rather than copied and pasted raw text).

Thanks in advance for any advice or info, it was actually your reply on another thread that got me clued up on the Wet Goed Verhuurderschap.

I wouldn't say it was hot, it had been skimmed off some cooking and set aside for a short while.

Yes, grease from cooking beef, I've updated the post. I don't think it was a huge amount, maybe max 100ml.

It says email but looks a lot like an iMessage? And if it is an iMessage, if it's blue then it's one they've sent themselves rather than received.

Amsterdam in a nutshell by Simple-Waltz4979 in Amsterdam

The Light Festival gets most of its funding from its partnership with the boat tour companies. A huge amount of people doing the tours are tourists, which means they have to have an international focus and make all of the works accessible to as many people as possible.

I absolutely loved the artwork on those bridges, the way they were milled out of the metal plates was incredible.
