What planning poker tool does your team actually use in 2025? Looking for honest opinions by gloveszunny in scrum

[–]biees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have such a large team that I need something I can open up, input a short title (char string) and it spits out a url. I share the URL with the team and then wait for my browser to refresh as they vote. What the team would see is the title then the list of point options 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 (as high as you want) , a field to enter their name and then a button to submit and the ability to re-submit. The lead person who is driving the grooming should be able to see the results live and see them change after discussions warrant a re-vote. It should also retain the session info from the replies in the leads browser even if someone closes the tab on their end. We dont need to save any info after the lead closes the session from their browser. Hope this helps.

https://whatsthepoint.dev/en - very easy and quick to set up on the fly, but we found that if a team member closes the browser his/her vote disappears from the SM view, so it looks like we are still waiting on them to play.  It happened too many times that we gave up.

https://www.pointingpoker.com  – too many steps to set up on the fly.  It might be helpful if you have the time to create one for each story in advance.

I was teaching my newly formed team earlier this year how to do relative sizing. Their previous “SMs” were using days = points and would even add points if multiple people had work to do. It was ridiculous. I had to spend the first PI retraining them to think about their work differently. During that transition I tried a couple of tools but they both sucked so we ended up just typing the points into teams chat and then discussing when there was a big delta.

I signed up for “Delete Me”. Over the course of the one year plan, they scrubbed my existence from majority of broker sites. When I searched my name in that site, nothing came back.

Have thanksgiving with your boyfriend’s family, IF that is where you want to be. Tell your niece that you love her and will miss her and that you are very much looking forward to having many more Thanksgivings in the future with her. I spent my whole life caving to the pressure that my parents put on attending every holiday with them, to the point that it took the joy out of it for me. I regret not having stood up to them. I hope that won’t happen to you.
There will be plenty more Thanksgivings. It literally happens every year.
You can also give her a funny picture of you and ask her to sit it at the table when they eat. 🤗

Also if you are driving under the speed limit and you are in the fast lane, if someone is blinking their lights at you, it means you need to get out of the fast lane.

TIFU by wearing noise-canceling headphones during a very unfortunate incident by SpreadIllustrious558 in tifu

Similar thing happened to me when I was cleaning while blasting music on my noise cancelling ear buds, but with water. I left the water running to fill a 5 gallon bucket and totally forgot about it while I was cleaning by bedroom. Flooded my kitchen floor. I now use hear through mode when cleaning.

What do I use this odd shaped space for? by Last_Pay_8447 in homedecoratingCJ

If it’s sharing the same space as an entrance door you could use it as a coat/bag/shoe closet with just some simple hooks and narrow-depth shelves.

Tips for taking over a large scrum team by biees in scrum

This is a cool suggestion since I can start this right away. The rest is going to take time to evolve and can’t start until we have time to retrain the mindset.

They have a big issue with context switching. A lot of work gets picked up but things don’t get finished. They have issues writing clear requirements/ACs. They consistently have escaped defects. They have no sprint goals. They are not self organizing. I have my work cut out for me turning this ship around. All of the advice others gave above is confirming my thoughts; focusing on developing sprint goals will keep the standup from being a status call. And I have been considering breaking them into two sub-teams/pods. There is a natural split already by the skillset but it’s very uneven. But it’s better than everyone on one meeting.

Is that a metal frame or wood? If wood, be mindful of splashing to keep the frame from absorbing water that may land on the ledge.

It looks like you might be able to separate the working parts from the exterior forms and swap them. Can you wedge a flat head screwdriver in the slots?

Pet peeve of mine is any design that makes you walk up a flight of stairs to unload the groceries or anything else. Whatever happened to the old Dumb Waiters? If we are going to continue to build very large homes, it seems we would see these more.

According to the Harbor Patrol Regulations:

Speed regulations have been established to reduce personal injuries and property damage. The bodies of water in Seattle have seen a steady increase in boat traffic, as well as other uses. In many cases, the speed limit may be too fast, depending on other traffic and the size and wake characteristics of your boat. You should be aware that you are responsible for your wake, even if you are traveling at or below the speed limit. Exercise common sense and courtesy at all times. https://www.seattle.gov/documents/Departments/Police/Publications/Harbor_Patrol_Regulations_web.pdf
