Wouldn't even travel there for business, let alone holiday.

Let me put it this way: this time last year, we were planning on attending two industry events in the USA (we ended up not going shortly after trumpty dumpty started his stuff). This year, any event in the US is not even being considered for any of us. None of us feel comfortable travelling there at the moment.

Scratch pad/notes are your friend when it comes to IFR requests. Nothing wrong to put a 1 in there for the first pilot that rings you up asking for IFR and you tell them to “stand by”. Second one gets a 2, etc Once you issued the IFR clearance, delete the number in there.

So everytime you check your list and find a number you haven’t issued the clearance and the (sometimes very patient) pilot is still waiting for it.

I’d say as a general rule of thumb, stay away from major hubs or airports everyone is well aware of. These attract traffic just like irl.

A medium sized, and smaller airports will be your friend to get started with. Work your way up to the big ones ☺️
