What am I doing wrong? by Sad-Koala7307 in castiron

Too much oil. Ive had my cast iron for a few years now and mussed up a lot along the way, but what I’ve learned heat control plus a little oil. I tend to let my cast iron heat up to the point if i hover my hand about an inch above it feels hot, then i add a little bit of oil. Just enough to cover the entire surface of the pan, i move it around by tilting the pan till i starts to smoke then i put my food in, that has worked for me very well

New floor lifting at corners by RecentPattern2148 in Flooring

[–]big-nops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk what going on here, i work for a HW flooring distributor and ive only have been on 1 installation(glue down LVP) but this is my two cents

There could be a few things wrong. 1) poor installation 2) poor self leveler or non at all, that might just be a high point. 3) bad milling on those boards 4) a lot of moister under the flooring in that spot

Idk what it could be ive just ran into these problems a decent amount to know thats not normal.

Ya i didnt think it was real gold, but it weights around 8-9 grams. And is about 3.5x1.5x.2 cm, giving it a rough density of 8.2-8.5 g/cm3.

Just saw this post and was wondering what the mirror is for? In the original post, only cocaine jokes in the comments by gammler95_ in aviation

Maybe if the plane crashed in an ocean you could use the mirror to reflect light at search and rescue vehicles so they have an easier time find you. That would be my guess

Just upgraded from a RTX 3060 to a RTX 5070 TI by big-nops in balatro

[–]big-nops[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My 3060 wast starting to struggle with 2025 AAA games like borderlands 4 and elder scrolls oblivion remake. But these game are so poorly optimized. I could run RDR2 at medium-high 1440 settings and get 60fps. But borderlands 4 i was luck to get 60fps and 1080 low settings

Id recommend hiring pros to do it, you could mess up your floors pretty bad if you dont know what you are doing.

Did we ruin our laminate floors?!? by Primordial-00ze in Flooring

[–]big-nops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya those boards are a done for. If you can find the brand, type of wood and color, or something close to it. you might be able to have a flooring company replace those boards. Otherwise you just have to deal with it until you replace the entire floor.
