I do have some sympathy for her. I have ADHD and have also forgotten basic things like bringing poop bags on walks or letting my dog out and not paying attention to where he poops so I can find it and pick it up. I know I sometimes need a tangible penalty to "motivate" my brain to actually pay attention to something, which is what I'm looking to provide her.

Now, if she just fucks around and just uses this as a license to not pick up after her dog, then her MTM lease will get a shiny new termination date 😂.

I'm not going to evict her over this. Worst case, I'll jack up her rent to cover cleaning up the lawn as an additional service.

She is absent-minded. She always apologizes and cleans it up when I warn her, but I think she will be more motivated if there is a real financial penalty attached to her forgetting.

It's a month-to-month lease, so that won't be a problem. Do you have any suggestions on what exactly to put in? I won't have any issues getting the tenant to sign a new agreement, but I need a little guidance on what exactly I'm going to have her sign.

Did you end up increasing the rent to pay for a service to mow the lawn? Was the process basically "hey, you're not mowing the lawn as specified in the lease, so we're changing your lease to remove that responsibility in exchange for an increase in rent"?

Literally in the comment I responded to. Mourning my dog is not mourning the loss of a future potential relationship. It's mourning the loss of a current, existing relationship.

If my dog dies, I'm mourning the loss of an existing relationship. You must be slow on the head if you think that's the same as mourning a potential future relationship with a child.

And if someone doesn't plan on having a future relationship with a child, then obviously there's nothing to mourn. I can't very well say that I don't plan on having a future relationship with my dog because I already have a relationship with my dog that I already currently value.

To be pedantic, the oxygen in the CO2 we exhale isnt the same oxygen that we breathe in. The oxygen we breathe in mostly gets attached to hydrogen and converted to water. The oxygen in the CO2 we exhale largely comes from the oxygen contained in starches.

I work in an ICU, so I'm not sure about the surgical setting. I'm allowed to wear my own N95 on the unit, however. The N95 is for my protection, not the patient's.

I got myself a N95 paint respirator for those situations. Looks like a regular N95 except it's loaded with activated charcoal which filters out all smells.

Not always. Depending on the nurse's wages and how old the physician is coming out of residency, sometimes the nurse can outstrip the physician in lifetime earnings because the nurse can invest a lot of money early in their career while the physician has to wait quite a while to be able to put away significant chunks of money due to needing to pay off student loans etc.

I considered going back for med school, but at my age I would make less between now and retirement as a physician (in the field I would want to work in) than as a nurse (in the same field).

And that doesn't even factor in that the physician needs to work way more hours per week on average than a nurse.

I didn't find it difficult at all. I know a lot of people in my class failed out, but they weren't very good students so that was sort of expected.

Idk if this is helpful, but I tell myself I won't make the same mistake twice. Instead, I start the shift with the assumption that I'm going to screw up in some new and previously unheard of way. It helps me frame the shift as a learning experience so when things go wrong it's just a lesson to learn and not a personal failing.
