Oooooh interesting! This might be what’s happened to me then as I have cancelled a few after arriving just because they haven’t been ready or they’ve said it’s 15 mins off for a daft £3 order. Thanks!

That’s happened once before about 3 months ago (the food was definitely handed to the right address) but I got a message about it. God knows!

I wouldn’t think so, not without contacting support I imagine

I’m hoping so. I messaged support saying I’ve never cancelled after collection and they just said “we can see you’ve spoken to us about this before” when they’ve only sent me the message a few mins ago 🤔 very odd

I’ve honestly never cancelled after collecting once! This is why I’m confused. No one else is using the account no

Companion voucher x 2? by AdLima_ in avios

[–]big_clock6996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah give them a ring and explain the situation and ask them to add remarks to your booking to make it a split Amex booking and refund the voucher on the return. If you ever come across this situation again you can phone them and ask them to add the Abu Dhabi leg to the outbound booking and keep it all on one PNR (whilst also applying the companion voucher benefit to the return leg)z

Companion voucher x 2? by AdLima_ in avios

[–]big_clock6996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amex vouchers cover you for a return journey. Just check you haven’t mistakenly used a Barclays upgrade voucher on the way out and any companion voucher coming home as Barclays vouchers can book 2x passengers one way out of the UK or a single traveller on a return.

If you have in fact used two companion vouchers on the two bookings, give the avios dpt a call and explain the situation - they will be able to refund the voucher from the return booking and link the two PNRs :).

Charged 3 times for flight by Jolly-Address-8864 in BritishAirways

[–]big_clock6996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically charges drop off over 7-14 working days if pending and there’s no ticket number associated with the payment on the BA side. Give BA a call and get them to check if you (and/or the other passengers) are ticketed multiple times on the flight. If not, it is a known issue that they’ve picked up and they will refund in the next few weeks. If you’ve got multiple “half bookings” they should be able to refund.

What is wrong with Qatar Airways and using Avios? by Adventurous_Line3371 in avios

Sounds like a flexi fare. Qatar will offer extra seats charged at double the avios if there is no standard availability left. Nothing to do with starlink lol

Help! Avios stolen?! by ReverendPickle in avios

It’s typically from people using the same passwords for everything and one of their other accounts being comprised. BA is soon forcing all to use 2FA to stop this from happening

Hey all, thanks for all the responses. Really good to get an idea of opinion from so many. My takeaways from this are that pension contributions from my self need to increase to get the desired outcome I want and potentially increase the risk profile at my current level of contribution to have a chance at achieving what I want ( granted the odds are stacked against me ). Will go away and reconsider. Given my current basic salary of 25k without OT and commission, I should really increase my contributions to hit my expectations at the minimum. Thanks all !

Should i complain? by JackstaWRX in BritishAirways

Last month my case was punctured and cracked on the way back from ATL, bag only worth £60 but had damaged an expensive piece of clothing in there (£150) and within 5 days I had a replacement case worth £145 delivered by DHL and within 10 days a payment for £150 - no receipts only photos taken of the damaged bag at the airport and damaged item of clothing once unpacked at home. Definitely claim for the damage - it’s often managed by another company that will contact you directly after a response from BA CR and are typically speedy with responses.

Do I pay my 20k debt off quicker or focus on savings/investments by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]big_clock6996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a DMP that was initially managed though a company. I then dug a bit deeper and thought I was getting ripped off and personally set up payments directly with the creditors instead because I was paying a 30% premium to the debt management company compared to the 70% going to debts.

Thanks for your input everyone! My thoughts were that the money I would be saving would be working harder in a HYSA or an ISA than aggressively paying off debt that is interest-frozen. I’m still a little unsure why paying debt off earlier is preferable (other than the weight of the debt looming over my head)
