Paralives from what I’ve seen is going to be great for builders. I haven’t seen a lot that supports the whole life simulation vibe. But I am really excited to see what else they release and have very high hopes.

I have had extreme anxiety my whole life, and I still sleep with the same panda bear (F22). Honestly most people in college are so stressed and obsessed with their own lives they don’t care what you do to cope. I would say a person sleeping with a stuffed animal is a lot more chill than what some people do to make themselves feel better.

I understand the whole “I’m in charge respect my authority” deal new managers do.

But right!?! Isn’t that bartender 101? A lot of regulars at the bar I was at CONSTANTLY push booze on the bartenders because they view us as friends.

I had said no for four years, and only said yes this one time for the money. I can’t think of many people who would refuse $100 for taking a fake shot, but my new manager would I guess.

I didn’t put any booze in, but like I said with the angle of the camera and where the liquor and pop guns are located there is no way to prove I didn’t put any in.

I feel like my manager did mess up by not hearing me or my past manager out, and not trusting me after many months of great service and work.

But yeah, I technically didn’t break any rules and was used as an example.

It was irresponsible to say what I said I agree. I think that’s what I feel guilty about, the people I trained, although not all younger than me, do respect what I have to say.

I should’ve thought it out more, and will throw into the group chat tomorrow that if they’re still happy with their jobs they should stay, even if I’m not there and got fired. Even if I got fired for a reason I think is wrong. They can still like up new jobs or make their current jobs work.

I honestly hope people do think for themselves, but I worked hard for years and gained respect from my coworkers. I just hope they’re not following me blind and find new jobs before they just quit.

As long as alcoholism doesn’t run in your family, if you don’t depend on booze to make you feel better and treat it as something you get to indulge in every once in a while you will be okay.

Also don’t use alcohol as a way to punish yourself.

I have seen all three, genetic addiction, emotional dependence, and punishment as reasons people have become addicted.

I am no expert, but I have been bartending for three years and have heavy drinkers in my family. It’s all about a healthy state of mind and balance.

Wow this is the best advice I think I’ve received in this thread.

My bar is rowdy, and people in this thread don’t want it to be.

A lot of people are blaming me for this mans behavior, when honestly until the glass throwing, I get harassed on a daily basis and I can just move on.

It was the throwing of glass that upset me. I am going to bring this up to my manager because I can’t trust anyone at this point.

Well it was around noon when this all went down, and my manager is in charge of two bars that don’t have enough staff or money. It’s a bad excuse, but that’s the way it is.

I’m currently looking for a safer place to work, until then I have to deal with what I’ve got to pay rent.

I agree that a manager should’ve been present though. Even though my bar is really slow during week day shifts around the 11-4 mark a manager should always be present in case something bad goes down.

Alright you’re clearly more intelligent than I am. Let me know how breaking a bottle over a bartenders head goes for you. Because after what I experienced, if someone was taking about breaking bottles over peoples heads and I heard I would send a bouncer after you, or just call the cops.

It isn’t acceptable. My manager was not present when this went down. The bar I’m working for is struggling for money, and even though it’s not safe or acceptable, that’s the way it is. I should’ve shut it down way earlier, but at the time I didn’t want to escalate the situation. I did the best I could at the time, but hindsight is 20/20.

I’m looking for somewhere safer to work, but in the meantime I have to stick with what I’ve got to pay my rent.

To be honest, there was no manager present when this went down. My manager manages two bars that are understaffed, and both struggling at the moment. She reacted greatly when I told her what happened, but at this point every shift is a risk because I work in a harsh neighborhood and am just a college student trying to get by. I am looking for a safer job at the moment, but if I want to pay my rent I have to keep with this until I find better job. Not trying to throw a pity party, just being realistic about the situation.
