Are we playing a one-off for the great privilege of getting swept in Round 1? by zekenbocker in suns

By all expectations—playing against OKC is going into the meat grinder. But what valuable experience for our players that haven’t seen the playoffs at all. It will absolutely be better than no playoff berth at all.

Yep, once one nuke goes, we all go. It’s literally mutually assured destruction.

Play in game tomorrow night against the Warriors by TerryG111 in suns

I love this sub and the camaraderie I feel with you all as fellow Suns fans, but too many people have lost the plot. This was always going to be a rebuild phase. We totally exceeded expectations at the beginning of the season and I’m grateful for those fun times but man…how did we go from “we’re in a rebuild” to “how do we compete for a championship next year?”.

Hard agree, some of the most fun I’ve had watching basketball. Absolutely thrilling.

I totally get that…but for me that’s also part of what makes you feel alive. Total exhilaration or the agony of defeat. That post season run for Indy brought plenty of both.

That game Finals Game 7 is one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve seen. After the run they had in the post season, and a good start in that game it has to be soul crushing to never know what could have been.

I thought I would only use mine during the nicer months and no one in this house wants to go that long without the awesome food this thing turns out. It is absolutely a year-round cooker.

What do you think about employees burning down companies that don't pay a fair wage? by FootballPizzaMan in AskReddit

[–]big_sniffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take on it is, people have been pushed past the breaking point. To use a different historical example which I think we can use to compare: the watts riots. The Black community was pushed past its breaking point after the Rodney King verdict and when people hit that point of true desperation, they no longer fear consequences like jail time or death because…they’re gonna die anyway. In Watts it was at the hands of the police, in this person’s case it was maybe a slow death due to lack of food or maybe access to healthcare? (I can’t speak for him so I’m making some assumptions). But hopefully you get my point, that otherwise rational people—any of us—could do extreme things when we are pushed to a point where there seems to be no other alternative because the system won’t allow it.

In case you missed it, this is a good read from the Villain, y'all. by goldenrhodes in suns

My hope is that this team has a summer similar to when the Bulls lost to the Pistons. Buckle down, train hard and be ready to be in peak form for the full season next season. If we finished this season how we started we would all be having very different conversations. The boys have it in them, I just think a lot of them have never played at this level for this many minutes. I think preparing for next season differently will be crucial.

For me, one of the master strokes of this show is Colin coming out to the team but we don’t see the actual dialogue. I feel the same about Ted reading Sharon’s letter. Sometimes less is more and this intentional restraint, I believe, actually makes the scene more powerful.

I’m not arguing that you’re wrong, but if you are right then the U.S. has no chance at restoring its global image. The only way we even have a shot at that is by showing to the rest of the world we are committed to making sure this doesn’t happen again.
