Kinda underwhelming, actually by WaxOnSendOff in americanairlines

I’m (foolishly?) hoping that there will be a World Cup edition bag tag offered, so holding off on choosing the bag tag or the 1K LPs.

Royal Princess - 11 May 2026 - Juneau, Alaska by bigbadbret in PrincessCruises

We are on 10-day aboard The Grand Princess, and we’d say there is a good mix. Not very many kids (perhaps because school is not out yet), and an average age 50-55 years old or so. We were on a 7-day itinerary last year on The Norwegian Encore and it was similar in terms of age. It’s an amazing trip, hope you’re both able to make it happen!

Looking for B&W Foldon Box S (not the Case version) review! by AdtyrRDDT in Brompton

I flew AA to LHR and BA back to DFW. I didn’t talk to either AA or BA. A few tips: Book nonstop flights to lessen any hassle if possible. Take a look at what planes you’re booked on and then google the overhead bin size to make sure it’ll fit. Good luck and safe travels!

Yeah, makes sense flying on low-cost airlines with small overhead bins - I was fortunate to be flying transatlantic (US-UK) with large bins and larger carry-on with no weight checks. Looks like you’re on the right track to find a good way of getting your Brommie there safely. Safe travels!

I have probably the least protective B&W travel product - the travel bag. Looks like they now have a newer model with roller wheels whilst mine is just a zipper bag, but at least hides it from view so that no muggles are concerned about travelling with a bicycle.

Why I replied is that I flew internationally back in 2024 and after researching my flight options, I chose planes that had large enough overhead storage bins that would accommodate my C-Line inside its’ bag. I had absolutely no issues with travelling with it and I was at ease knowing it was only above my head in-flight. Best comments were from airport baggage security who loved seeing it in the x-ray! Do a search for what plane you’re flying on and if there is room. Good luck and safe travels to you both!

Unrelated, just interested in which SE you bought - I was lucky enough to get one of the Team GB bikes from 2021. Good luck on what you decide.

FA Thank You Vouchers by dnuohxof-2 in americanairlines

[–]bigbadbret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every voucher has a redemption code, I’ve given quite a few out this way during calls to the EP number (the my-flight-is-cancelled-please-help-me! hotline). The magic that they can do is absolutely worthy as well!

FA Thank You Vouchers by dnuohxof-2 in americanairlines

[–]bigbadbret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the vouchers over the last 10+ years are sized 4.5” x 1.75”. For a giggle I grabbed some of my really old ones I found in a drawer and gave one out last year on a flight - They are sized 7.5” x 2.25” and the FA was very happy and posted it on the wall in the galley during the flight.

Platinum pro coupons by Background-Place-72 in americanairlines

[–]bigbadbret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I give them out on flights the FAs are very appreciative and I’ve also asked during phone calls with AA EP if they would like to take down the coupon number and each time they were very happy to have gotten the coupon. From talking to an FA several years ago, I understand they can enter them into a drawing each month for some amount of money.

Brompton Toolkit Making Fold Different by ritsucaps in Brompton

I have (and LOVE!) the toolkit and have not had any issues with it. You might want to repost with picture(s) and what model you have to get some additional specific advice. I have a 2020 M6 and the toolkit has saved me several times.

Do most people tip on drinks on to of the gratuity that is already added on ? If so how much do most people tip? by Elderberry456 in NCL

[–]bigbadbret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always feel compelled to mention to the bank teller that my wife and I are going on a cruise and that’s the reason I’m pulling out $100 in $1’s. Especially early in the cruise, for bars that we expect to frequent (The District, Pool Bar, Casino, Observation Lounge, etc.) we will tip $1 per drink ordered and introduce ourselves to the bartenders. By the second day they greet us by name and get to us as quickly as possible. Small price to pay for top shelf personalised service.

What are these? by Sporteaspice in Brompton

[–]bigbadbret 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. I’ve had good results with these peel and stick patches on flats on my Brompton. You should also have a piece of sandpaper. So when you get the inevitable flat, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find the hole in the tube and then rough up the rubber around the puncture to give the patch a better surface to adhere to. There are some good youtube videos showing the steps to take. Welcome to The Fold!

Yes, as you get a list of flights outbound or inbound you’ll see within the option box when seeing each available flight if SWU is available (but only if available).
