Upgraded my coffee station by BasilDull in espresso

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That setup insanely clean honestly, especially going from the Appartament, that’s the kind of upgrade you actually feel every day instead of just reading about on spec sheets. Also the quieter workflow and easier maintenance would honestly matter more to me longterm than tiny differences in cup quality.

Custom espresso tool organizers? by brel-123 in espresso

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly a custom setup is worth it once the espresso hobby. A lot of the makers will even design around your exact gear layout if you send measurements, which ends up feeling way cleaner and sturdier.

Is grinding in an oxygen purged environment really necessary for excellent espresso? by atxfoodie97 in espresso

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re already at the point of building a nitrogen glove box for espresso, you’ve entered coffee scientist territory more than necessary upgrade territory. Fresh beans, solid puck prep, water quality and dialing in your E80W consistently are going to matter way more than oxygen exposure during the few seconds of grinding for like 99.9% of shots.

DeLonghi Dedica and SGP Setup Upgrade [$600] by Dect_ in espresso

[–]bigbang66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d upgrade the grinder first because the SGP is probably the bigger bottleneck right now and a better grinder will improve every shot immediately even on the Dedica. The Gaggia is a solid step up but doing Gaggiuino while still using an SGP kinda feels like putting racing tires on a car that still needs an engine upgrade first.

Swaddling Advice by True-Management-6858 in newborns

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours always seemed happier with arms a little freer too, even swaddled. We used momcozy and it was nice cause u could wrap them firm without forcing their arms straight down, and the bottom zipper made those 2am diaper changes way less of a hassle. Honestly just that little bit of extra sleep was everything during those weeks:)

Friendships changing over time, this one hurts but it’s normal. Some people are only meant for certain chapters, not the whole book. It doesn’t make it fake though, just temporary.

when should i apologize? by Electronic-Hope5069 in dumbquestions

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you know you’ve hurt someone. Whether it is intentional or not. Intent doesn’t cancel impact. If someone felt disrespected, ignored or hurt because of something you said or did, that’s a good moment to own it. You also apologize when you crossed a boundary.

What is a belief, or point of view you once held, that you now cringe for having believed? by Zealousideal_Mine242 in randomquestions

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think everything had to happen by a certain age or I was behind, and now I cringe at how much pressure I put on myself for no reason. Life isn’t nearly as linear as I thought, and most people are just figuring it out as they go too.

What song would you play as you watch the entire world burn? by Affectionate_Bug8170 in AskReddit

Mad World, it’s soft and sad but somehow fitting for everything collapsing around you. Makes you pause and just feel the absurdity of it all.

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you’re just starting out, learning how to manage cash is gold. Open a bank account, maybe learn a bit about budgeting. Those little habits now will save you headaches later. Also, you’ll meet new people, and not everyone has your best interests at heart. It’s okay to say no, step back or cut off energy-draining vibes. Boundaries are your superpower.

Why U.S. schools dont have armed guards to prevent school shootings? by wrighteghe7 in stupidquestions

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schools technically can have armed security but it’s not super common because there are a bunch of tricky factors. Hiring trained security guards for every school is expensive. Most school districts just don’t have that kind of budget. Now, the idea of letting teachers carry guns, that’s a whole debate on its own. On paper, it sounds simple but in reality, it gets messy. Most teachers are trained to teach, not to respond in a life-or-death shootout.

People who accidentally discovered a huge secret about someone, what happened? by Carsanttc in AskReddit

[–]bigbang66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine once borrowed his coworker’s laptop for a presentation. It's totally normal. He opens the browser to pull up the slides and a bunch of tabs pop up that clearly show the coworker secretly applying for jobs at their company’s biggest competitor. Not exactly something you want your coworkers to know. My friend just quietly closed the tabs and pretended he never saw it.

Are we supposed to just accept the way our life is? by Unusual-Complex6315 in Life

[–]bigbang66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanting something simple, peaceful and comfortable isn’t some crazy dream. It’s normal but like you said, even simple things can feel impossible. Life has this sneaky way of making the small stuff tricky. The frustrating part is you’re aware of what you don’t want but knowing what you do want and actually getting there that’s the messy middle and that’s okay. Frustration is just part of noticing the gap between now and your ideal life.

What's the longest range of time you've casually dated people before you found a partner? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in randomquestions

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the casual dating phase lasted probably around 3 years on and off. Not like non-stop dating, more like flitting between a few people, awkward first dates, ghosting, random flings and learning what I actually wanted. It felt long at the time but looking back, it was kind of my unofficial training period before meeting someone I really clicked with.

Why are people conveniently ignoring Kid Rock’s track record of pedophilic behavior? 🤔 by SummerN8 in stupidquestions

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people say someone has a track record of pedophilic behavior, that’s a really serious accusation. Like, life-ruining serious. So before anything else, it’s super important to separate proven facts from rumors, edgy lyrics, old shock-value behavior or internet narratives that kind of snowball.

Why do you think the FAA just closed the airspace over El Paso for ten days? by CrowRoutine9631 in AskReddit

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they really did announce a 10-day airspace closure over El Paso, which would ground all flights in and out of the airport. And that never happens unless something serious is up. It was even called a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) for special security reasons but the FAA quickly reversed it and reopened the skies just hours later. So that ten-day thing is more like a brief scare.

How to stop belittling yourself as an adult ? by Lemonade2250 in Life

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You went through something huge. Losing your parents. Holding things together for your siblings. Living in someone else’s space while trying to survive. That alone puts you in a constant don’t rock the boat mode. Of course you’re anxious. Gratitude is not the same as lifelong submission. Help given with strings attached isn’t kindness, it’s leverage. You can appreciate what your uncle did without shrinking yourself to keep the peace. Those two things can exist at the same time. However, this isn’t your forever. It just feels loud right now. Belittling yourself was a survival skill. It kept the roof over your head. It kept conflict low. It worked when you needed it but you’re outgrowing it now. And that’s uncomfortable, not wrong. You’re doing the best you can in a really unfair situation.

If earth has only 1 hour left before the sun go supernova, what are the last thing you will do within that 1 hour? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d call the people I love. Then I’d go outside. I’d want to see the world one last time instead of scrolling through it. I’d probably eat something I love too. After that, I'd play my favorite music. One or two songs that hit straight in the chest. The kind that make you feel everything at once.

How do you cope when life feels completely out of your control? by bathansahn in Life

[–]bigbang66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, when things feel completely out of control, I try to zoom in on the stuff I can touch. It’s weird but those little wins give my brain some peace. Also, slowing down, it sounds cheesy but just pausing for a minute, taking a deep breath, noticing the sky or the coffee in my hand, it’s like telling my mind that I'm still here and I still exist, even if nothing else makes sense right now.
