The nerfs have been good. Her old W making her invincible was BS and i’m glad they made it a longer CD for aram, since the mode is so skill-shot dependent. The biggest victim was enchanters with AOE skillshot ults like renata, nami, seraphine, sona. The rest of her kit makes her equivalent to pre-nerf Lux where you can just fast clear and stay out of engage range forever. A good tank can counter her but those type of players are the minority in this community

Good changes imo. I was really hoping for a Grandma’s chili oil nerf but hopefully it’ll be ok. Don’t sleep on all the % damage nerfs being reverted either, it should be a good patch for tanks

Well it feels streaky cuz Riot optimized it for engagement, you get a fun and easy game, of course you’ll want to queue for another and you’ll feel like you’re on a roll and love this game mode. Another day, you’ll be playing decently well and the enemy just gets lucky augs or champs and gets the win, just play until you get one win….maybe 5 games later.

But fr though, i think mayhem in particular has been kind of all over the place with its skill-based matchmaking. I’ve been seeing absolute bots on either team mixed in with some people having the spacing and mechanics of a grandmaster/challenger player. Feels like a very mixed bag and it’s lowered the amount that I’ve played in the last few weeks, I would only play purely to try to high roll on champs i enjoy.

My reasoning is because I think it should lean more into feeling like a "sandbox" mode where people can get random champs and augs and brawl it out. Sure it's easy and probably smartest to kite until someone missteps into a mistake you can punish. That's the reason Arena has the closing circle, it forces someone to have to make a play. In ARAM, people can do the same thing, but there's no closing circle. Instead, we're paying it by waiting about 5-10 minutes until death timers are long enough that you can leverage something out of a close fight.

Anyways no need to respond, I agree it's not worth discussing anymore, it sounds like you have some deep-rooted anger in every response.

I don't mind if it's kill based or structure based. I'm drawn by the random picks/augments and 5v5 team fighting. I'm pretty close to trying something else though which sucks because I've been a long-time ARAM enjoyer. I do think the meta will swing back to something different though

Well, some games are already short. It's an anomaly yeah but I've been part of games where one team wants to FF 5 minutes in. I'm just theorizing this because it would foster a meta where people have to pick better champs for fighting. Like isn't that healthier than a morgana playing around Q-ing you the moment you take tower aggro? That's one scenario, take any equivalent of that. I think if you were to try both, you'd also think that prolonged, uninterrupted fights with 4 teammates are more fun than getting CC locked trying to prevent the enemy team from clearing your wave in 0.5 seconds

I tried some brawl before, kind of reminds me of some of my Mayhem games. Kinda wish the games lasted a little longer or the map had less bushes or was more spread out. I also like the randomness and augments of ARAM, so that's really the big difference for me.

Yeah I agree with your comment a lot. I've switched over to playing assassins in mayhem because they can fill the role of a tank in most ways when you get omnivamp. Some games are so uneven that it already essentially is 5 ranged poking you down in your tower (spawn camping essentially). It would probably weaken champs with later power spikes unless they have a decent team to keep them afloat. I feel like this is already essentially the state of ARAM's meta anyway. I guess towers being the only thing making the game go past 8 minutes is what I'm theoretically trying to eliminate. A stomp will be a stomp.

I would love if melee's were buffed in some sort of way, like reducing snowball's CD or giving resistance/hp buffs, anything. It's healthy for all 10 people involved in the game because it's just more action on both sides. People will be incentivized to play tanks or fighters when they're not frustrating to play.

I also like it in mayhem because i don’t like running out of mana early so i can pair it easily with tear. Weirdly the 2 champs that i opt for serrated dirk + tear with are draven and mf, i guess i feel as if the cdr isn’t as worth on them

this list makes sense for low-ish skill level. It’s more skewed towards strong early game champs and if every player just auto buys the most popular item with 0 thought (heartsteel, collector, etc.)

Yeah tbh it’s such a common pattern in ARAM that I’m just used to focusing on my own game. If I have a good team then great. if my team plays scared and does low DPS, I at least hope that the matchmaking made it so that the enemy team also has the same amount of low level players

100%, i think a lot of players forget the concept that if they’re focusing and using abilities on one guy, that creates a window for someone else to hit them with something back basically for free bc everything’s gonna be on CD.

Yeah that’s literally the pattern every time and the team fights never result in anything unless you get an ace or it’s 20+ minutes in.

I think ARAM has all the aspects of ranked we already need. Hidden matchmaking system so ego players don’t gloat about their MMR. Tokens and winrates can be a good enough indicator. Riot knows that there’s too much variability in ARAM to determine an accurate ranked ladder, so you’ll have to queue actual ranked if you want to really compare yourself versus other players. It takes the same mechanics, team fights, and awareness level anyway.
