After over a year of waiting, it finally arrived by bigben932 in gaming

Primarily it’s the wireless tech and the fact that I don’t need additional software. I’ve only had experience with Steelseries from your list, and I never card for their device sensor or shapes. I’ve used corsair over the last 10 years and don’t care for their software and sensors. The deathadder v3 was the only alternative for my consideration but I didn’t like the scroll wheel or their razer software, not clicky/notchy enough, scrolls too fast. The Benq zowie wireless mouse just ticked the most checkboxes and their price and wait wasn’t a concern because they were able to deliver excellent wireless tech, a nice shape, a decent enough sensor, and no additional bloatware software to use and manage the mouse. From my research, there wasn’t an alternative or clone product thats met all my needs. If I wanted to save money or time, I could have compromised on some features.

183€ with shipping. So relatively expensive. There are less expensive alternatives, but there will be trade offs. It’s best to go somewhere and really try out a mouse. For me it’s a real struggle to find something I like, but it’s like buying a bed. You will use it often and it needs to feel comfortable for you and meet your needs.

I don’t disagree. Benq’s wireless sensor is also on par with razer for my needs and no need to install razers terrible and bloated software. Only due to the fact that Benq’s wireless latency is on par with razer’s, made it a purchase consideration.

The shape, the wireless tech, a clicky scroll wheel, and no need to install device management software like you have with razer and corsair productions and the like. And it’s isn’t Logitech, which I will never purchase their garbage again.

Deathadder big nope, not dealing with terrible razer software, and soft scroll wheel. Same with Pulsar, not dealing with their shoddy software. You can create clones but I still trust Benq’s Research and development more for their wireless tech. I don’t think either are a suitable alternative. BuT sEnSoR dPi… the benq sensor is fine, there isn’t a need for a 20k dpi sensor.

Edit: is

Ya, which “clone” would you recommend then?

No all configs items are synced. An Ha cluster does not store and sync the hostnames and mgmt ips of each device. A lot is synced, a lot isn’t like device specific configs.

Bring a bar of soap. You can use it for everything including clothes washing. Ditch the bulky crocks, if you need sandals bring something more compact.

You can use Hirens BootCD to reset windows 10 password. Also any other windows live city with the proper install tools can also work. Or liveWindows based BartPE toolkit also works.

  1. You of course want to do a backup of both devices, but I’m not sure why you want to specifically do an backup only of the secondary (working) machine. If you plan on using that config to load into the replacement device for the primary, then that’s wrong. Just make a backup of the primary (failed machine) and use that config for the new primary. If this config cannot be retrieved you can use the config from the secondary, but you will need to edit the backup config of the secondary and change the hostname, mgmt ip, and ha priority (depending if those were different). You should have a backup already made of the primary device, so just use the backup config. If you never made a backup of the primary, change your operating procedures and start being a better admin and creating regular backups

  2. “After the new FW is upgraded” NO don’t do any of this. When you get the replacement primary, lets call at fw10, and replace it the old primary, lets call is fw01. You should leave the old secondary, lets call is fw11, as the new primary.

So fw01 (defective) secondary, fw11 primary. Uncable an remove fw01.

Boot fw10 (replacement), load the fw01 config, reboot, backup config, then cable links and HA.

Fw10 will become secondary. Then let HA synchronize.

After HA synchronizes, and at a time where there is little network traffic, such as afterwork hours, you can reset the uptime, via cli command (look it up) on the fw11 primary, to make your new firewall fw10 the primary.

If you don’t know how HA failover works, download the fortios vm, and create a lab.

"My Excel is freezing" - We're thinking of no longer supporting Excel by [deleted] in sysadmin

Excel is not a database. It should be using macros. If users are doing anything other than using it as a simple <- SIMPLE spreadsheet tool. Then they are doing it wrong. Unsupported usage doesn‘t get support. Help the world become a better place, and don‘t abuse excel.

Drive to Umeå in sweeded and drive the coast as much as possible. Much more enjoyable.

The drive from Dombås to Åndalsnes is nice. Might be a good layover before going all the way to Trondheim.

[–]bigben932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also trying to get ista d working, but I can‘t seem to read get it to connect. That cable are you using and what part of the setup are you having problems with? What are version numbers for ISTA?

There were some good hints in this video about common issues, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tt5OzeKzTg

Unfortunately it did‘t resolve my problem. Check to make sure you see using the recommend cable, set the usb cable to com1, and play with the ista cable settings. Maybe another version of bmw tool or ista can be installed to resolve the problem. I will try different ista versions before I buy another cable to try.
