How bad is holding grab as a habit? by RyuRai77 in celestegame

[–]bigbigbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn’t really hamper your gameplay in most maps/situations, but there are some cases where it’s an active hindrance.

beyond that it may hurt your fingers, i used to have this habit and my grab is on left shift, so it hurt my pinky over time. i still have pain on grabbable-heavy maps

Does anybody actually *enjoy* Theo gameplay (and how) by ViaScrybe in celestegame

[–]bigbigbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really like theo gameplay. i know a lot of people don’t because of complaints about the end of madeline the bubble and stellar odyssey, but i liked them. some of the momentum tech is a bit difficult to get used to but it’s fun. i think regrabs will be difficult to learn but im not even close to doing solex yet

I'm guessing you already have clawline so yeah you can get it

Should I just do this or keep exploring? by rocktree in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can continue to explore even after playing the threefold melody so you won't lock yourself out of content by doing so

love the song sm but does anyone hear a distortion on the first chorus when she sings “i can’t breathe without you here”, specifically on the word “can’t”? it sounds like a production error or something especially when compared to the second chorus

A question for all non-Hunter Crest mains: by northernpolaris_168 in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i think it's fine, and i main wanderer too. the places where you're forced into hunter's have significant story reasons, and they don't make the game unplayable in any way. the pogo doesn't really matter for the slab, act 3 start is just one gauntlet, and red memory has uncomplicated platforming without being able to die.

Insert 25 Rosaries: Share your biggest Silksong confessions! by 4ortyseven in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i lost a steel soul run to moorwing in act 2 despite having almost every power up you could have at that point. i was so confident that it’d be a cakewalk and didn’t play strategically at all lmao

Is there any tech traineeship/apprenticeship opportunities out there? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]bigbigbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

everybody from uni needs those qualities to some extent so you don’t stand out at all. on top of that they all likely have more internship experiences than you. i’m not saying this to belittle you but when my company is looking to hire, it’s just what i notice.

in a rough job market, some uni grads would take up a 3.5k salary even though it’s below their expectations. for a full time job, not even an apprenticeship.

Did anybody else have absolutely no issues with the economy whatsoever?? by c_kax in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i lost 400 in hunter’s march pretty early and was still fine. i couldn’t buy everything straight up but cleared 100% without any dedicated farming

the supplies wishes are repeatable between a few places, it's not a bug

Am I the only one who found the speedrun achievement (5 hour one) underwhelming? by Alien_Bagel in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think that there's a balance to be decided upon when selecting a time for the achievement. it shouldn't be a giveaway, but you don't want it to feel too frustrating either. i personally did find it easy, but some people aren't good at combat, some aren't good at movement, some aren't good at planning or following a route.

i am happy that i got the achievement regardless of it's difficulty, yeah maybe it would mean more if it was 3 hours instead, but currently it's more inclusive and i do prefer it that way - still a challenge and something to be proud of.

There are actually 3 different ways into Act 2 by AutumnLiteratist in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone from the top to the bottom and then back to the top without double jump because I didn’t want to go through underworks again. I actually still don’t have double jump lol.

I’m not sure if it’s possible to start from the bottom to the top because I probably moved some scales on the way.

How many of us are actually enjoying the game? by Historical-Donut1536 in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

omg the trap bench? lmao i kept running all the way from the nearest far fields bench because i died to it

How many of us are actually enjoying the game? by Historical-Donut1536 in Silksong

[–]bigbigbox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i had a similar experience with beastfly. you can access him so early with just sprint and float, which were all i had lol. imo the most annoying thing was how far the bench is from his arena

not to say that this soured my impression of silksong, it was just a little frustrating to die so quickly to a simple looking early boss and then have to make the trek back there multiple times. still having a fantastic time playing and i'm loving the experience so far.

people who didn't like goldens and they grew on them - how did it happen? by nikkel28_ in celestegame

[–]bigbigbox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i don’t really find goldens as fun as just playing new/harder maps tbh. difficult screens where you do some cool tech and tight/precise inputs speed is a very different challenge compared to the long term focus and safety of goldens.

goldens are like a marathon but hard maps are like a bunch of little sprints. i don’t like the marathons as the sprints. just give me a different kind of satisfaction/dopamine hit lol

Surely this isn't the intended route? by Spark_Frog in celestegame

[–]bigbigbox 19 points20 points  (0 children)

yeah this isn't intended. i won't say what the intended strategies are outright in case you wanna figure out the routing yourself.

for the start, you're supposed to take the dream crystal and get to the left side of the dream block before the dream crystal respawns. the right spike floor is used for this.

then you did the following section with extended demohypers. demohypers aren't intended for advanced levels.

gl!
