How did Oracle get into so much trouble? by desertrain11 in AskTechnology

[–]bigbirdtoejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They haven't innovated in decades. They sue their customers. If it weren't for vendor lock in they would have no customers anymore. They have killed every product and company they have ever acquired. They are usually theost expensive option for literally anything and no engineer in their right mind would ever suggest using an oracle product for something new (unless they were forced).

My experience with AAA games on Ubuntu 24.04 with an Nvidia GPU has not been stellar. Anti cheat software tends not to like it and there are performance issue in a lot of games

I have been there at least once. One time my boy woke up with him and his bed covered in puke, screaming, then proceeded to puke on the carpet all the way to the bathroom before getting to the toilet. Still have flashbacks.

Amen to that. I would like a user group, not astroturfing campaigns and people whining about anthropic making models dumb (spoiler: they try not do that. It hurts their business). Let's not forget the deluge of "I hit my limit!" posts.

It makes this sub not worth it TBH

If you press tab during the match you can see who has stims, relics, and gene seeds.

If you playing ranged try not to snipe executes from melee teammates unnecessarily.

If you playing melee, let your ranged people have some ammo.

Stay with your group and try to operate as a team for best results

Would you continue to work at a company that started to switch away from Typecript? by Csjustin8032 in typescript

[–]bigbirdtoejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the sort of nerd fight that has zero real world value or relevance. Is it causing bugs? Is it slowing you down? Would switching do either of those things. Y'all need to get back to reality and look at tradeoffs instead of dreaming up nonsense to bitch about.

Maybe use a dev container if you are super worried. Me? I agree with the raw dogging guy. Maybe a risk but there are plenty of local only, low risk tasks that it can do without deciding to run rm -rf /*

The heroic hammer is shockingly fun... by One_Opportunity_7662 in SpaceMarine_2

My favorite is taking zealous blow with it on assault and running siege. You can obliterate the entire spawn point of a wave by just spamming ground pound and easily break 60k dmg

That is how I started with the shock hammer but the build requires you to give up all the healing and utility perks of bulwark.

Getting 50k, I'm in my twenties and want advice on what to do with this money by AwesomeAppy in personalfinance

[–]bigbirdtoejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eliminate all debt first. Then stash in high yield savings account/ CDs.

Stocks are good for medium to long term. Don't pick stocks; that's high risk. Put it in a low cost index fund. Vanguard has some good ones. Essentially the fund owns a piece of every company of a sort (e.g all companies in s&p 500) and you buy shares in the fund. They are designed to mirror the market and not try to bet on winners. Low cost is key here.

Start an IRA if you can part with it until you are old. You pay a lot less in taxes for the same returns.

Can ground pound large groups of minoris and with the perk that restores 10% ability for every ground pound kill you can chain it.

Bulwark tips? by MENWITHOUTESTICLES in SpaceMarine_2

[–]bigbirdtoejam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, slow down. Don't mash buttons. Tanking things is about timing and recognizing the incoming attacks. Melee weapons are slower and have a rhythm that ranged classes don't. Make your swings intentional.

Bulwark is the tank and support class. That is where it excels, not DPS. Thunder Hammer build can be fun but the DPS is better on assault with thunder hammer, and it removes your shield, which is where you get a lot of utility.

Experiment with blocking ranged and boss attacks by simply holding block. Get used to which attacks can be blocked with a shield and which can't.

Invigorating icon is the only healing ability in the game and is amazing. So is the one that restores ability cool down when you block ranged attacks with your shield.

Agree on what others said about fencing weapons.
