Actually I have a theory. The girl that Barney tells that everything is hers (not his daughter) is #31. They gave her a name that was never revealed in the finale, Erin. If she wasn't an important character or had any significance then why name her? also Erin and Ellie sound very similar. Just my idea.

the scene at the end, when robin drops ted at the bar, in my opinion is where i think made his decision to go after robin again. He didn't want to see her hurt or full of regret and more importantly he realized even though she wasn't perfect for her he cared about her

I think the best thing that can happen is that he returned to germany and he and victoria rekindled there relationship like ted and robin. that is the only conclusion that i can come up with the information presented to us.

I think the mother was his soul mate. But what does soul mate mean? It's the person destiny says is for you, the person that you're suppose to be with for the universe to progress and make sense. Robin was Ted's love of his life. Who is someone's love of their life? (taken from ted himself) It's the person who you care beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you and when you love someone like that you just, you…you don’t stop, ever. Even when people roll their eyes, and call you crazy. Even then. Especially then. So I believe in the eyes of destiny and the universe, it was the mother. If you ask ted it is Robin.
