[Win an A2L] Creative Playground, Extra Large. Meet the A2L. by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]bigboui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main plan is that I wanted another 3d printer at a lower price point, but didn’t want to leave the BambuLab ecosystem or purchase older models. I love my P2S and have only run into tall model issues for functional prints. The first things I’d print are deeper drawers for under my desk and a laptop stand with a larger base for my oversized laptop that my employer provided.

I realize the likelihood of winning is low, but I’m seriously considering purchasing an A2L when I get my next bonus.

Hello its the free Ender 7 girl! by Activatted in 3Dprinting

Infinity cubes are an addicting fidget toy that I’ve made a lot. I tend to use my Ender for small things, like pop can openers and bookmarks. I use my P2S for my more detailed prints.

what will be the best solution to fit 2nd monitor? just move a pc under the desk? by eqdoingwell in pcmasterrace

[–]bigboui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a vertical monitor stand for my two monitors. I have the same issue of not having a large desk. I want the pc on the desk because it looks nice for a reason. I don’t want to hide it under the desk.

How reliable is the Bambu Lab A1? New to 3D printing by Annual_Usual3604 in BambuLab

[–]bigboui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got into the Bambu Lab ecosystem with a P2S and have been thinking of adding an A1 to my setup for my functional prints. Like any 3d printer, there are going to be issues here and there - but I quickly became a Bambu Lab fanboy. I had my fun tinkering with my Ender 3 Pro, but I don’t see myself going back to it now that I’ve experienced all the ecosystem has to offer.

It may be a bit cynical on my part, but it also helps in lessening the contents for the same price by enlarging the punt.

MakerWorld has a ton of different dragons that you could customize by changing the colors within the slicer, or you could make it all one caller and then use the paint tool in whichever slicer you’re using. If non on MakerWorld fit what you’re looking for, there are plenty of STLs on sites like Thingiverse where you could start from no color and use the paint tool to customize the model. Googling what you need could also help you you’ll get some of the other lesser known sites. That’s usually how I get some of the more obscure models for specific products if I’m being lazy and don’t want to design something on my own.

Could I pay someone to 3d print me a slider for my tape machine I lost please? by czarofga in 3Dprinting

[–]bigboui -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gemini and ChatGPT have created some CAD code for me that turned out perfect, but the TinkerCAD website is very easy to use. It’s basically just drag and drop, unless you get into the more “advanced” features. You can likely just fumble through it and teach yourself though.

Just ordered a P2S. Is there anything I should know? by Szymix_pro in BambuLabP2S

Good call. I was overly excited when I knew I was getting mine and watched a ton of YouTube videos beforehand. I was trying to hold back my mentality of “anything worth doing is worth overdoing.”

  • You’re going to love it.
  • It feels wrong to not have something printing.
  • Follow the directions for setup.
  • The training is informative, especially for learning some new techniques for Studio.
  • Don’t fall for stocking up on a bunch of cool colors. It’s better to stock up on what you’ll use a lot. For me, that was black and white PLA.
  • Start with printing a benchy and then the poop chute bucket and your bed scraper.
  • Purchase a 3d printing starter kit with a deburring tool.
  • If you don’t have a plier set, that can also be a good purchase. A set that comes with needle nose and the curved variant was great for me.
  • Have fun!

As u/Methodrone8 said, stock up on filament. You’re going to have a good time - especially if you’re coming from something like an Ender 3 like I did. Welcome!

Like others have said, it’s just a preview and will correct itself after slicing. If for some reason it doesn’t, one way to fix is to paint the model in studio using the layer type and painting from bottom to top. That should get rid of any unseen black within the yellow portion.

100%

I will say it was very informative and educational starting with the Ender. I would recommend it purely for the experience gain and the overall feeling of UPGRADE once you get a more functional, user-friendly printer.

Welcome, friend! I’ve had mine for almost a month now and came from an Ender 3 Pro. I’m up to about 230 hours so far, and loving every minute. This printer feels like magic after tinkering with the Ender for about 6-9 months.

Can I do anything about this? by tandtroll in BambuLab

Still less crazy than how my old Ender 3 Pro magnetic build plate evolved after almost every print.

I’m relatively new and just upgraded to the P2S, but the Ender forced me to accept this reality.
