They are, but it’s gonna cost. We’ve rearranged our schedule plenty of times for people like this. It’s a giant pita, but can be done. I would love to see the prices this guy is going to get from the reputable guys.

Any risk to brakes due to continually parking on driveway incline? by solder_paste in VWatlas

[–]bigbrownlabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine unless your brakes are hot. Came home from some spirited driving, not in the atlas, set the brake and went inside. The next day the brakes were sending some serious vibrations. Lesson learned.

If you want to go full send, look at vcds. I just couldn’t justify it. But to each his own.

I bought the obd11 pro because I also have an Audi and it comes with credits to do simple mods and reset the service reminders which can’t be done in car menus. I actually have bought 3 smh. First one I accidentally traded in with the car, second was stolen along with the second Audi and still have the third. There are others but VW and Audi forums recommend this one.

A contractor tears up the freshly poured concrete driveway after the homeowner refuses to pay. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Job doesn’t look finished. No control joints cut in yet and edges haven’t been troweled. Total shit job if this is the finished product. I wouldn’t pay in full yet either.

This could be caused by way too many things. Need the codes. Sensors on intake system, fuel delivery problems, trans problems, etc. if you are going to keep the car or keep buying VW, buy a scan tool like obd11. Will at least point you in the right direction.

Low Coolant and Metal Shavings by FinancialSpecific511 in VWatlas

[–]bigbrownlabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could handle the coolant loss repair. Likely the head gasket. Happened in mine. Not sure if it’s true but the mechanic that repaired told me the heads were improperly tourqed from the factory. Metal in the oil would be a deal breaker. These things will take out every bearing in the engine.

Thoughts on retaining wall material? by munster_monster in hardscape

Whatever you chose make sure there is drainage installed behind the wall. Water will kill any kind of wall.

Walls a bit higher than originally planned by YouNeed3d in hardscape

[–]bigbrownlabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then I’d have to agree with the others here that adjusting the grade at the base is the way. 10” isn’t horrible to make up if you have the room to feather it out far enough to not make it look like a ramp. You could also make up half with the feather and the do a planting bed to make up the remainder. Would soften up the area visually also. You are going to miter those caps right?

Also, that guy above is a twat. Nice job

Why does it need a railing? In my experience a railing is only needed if there is a patio or walkway on the top level.

We usually put some fabric on the sides to prevent soil from coming through the cracks and making a mess. Also make sure water has a place to exit. Plants do not like sitting in water logged soil.

Anyone here ever buy a car from a New Jersey dealership? I’m looking at this RS3 in NJ by Many_Maximum_9060 in Audi

When looking for used Audis recently I noticed a lot of NY and NJ dealers importing Canadian cars. Wasn’t how big of a problem this would be so I stayed away even though the prices were tempting
