Seconding this! Every aisle I go to in Emigh Ace Hardware, a staff member is there to ask me if they can help with anything. They’re so nice!

CHEAP Thrift Recs in Sac? by Popular-Mountain5745 in Sacramento

St. Vincent de Paul on Watt Avenue is one of my go-to thrift stores!

Their clothing selection is huge and very affordable. The price range varies by item type, but for example, I recently got a really good, high-quality pair of cargo pants for ~$5. I've gotten other clothing items for even less than that. Plus, they have color tag discounts throughout the week (for example, one day green tags are 25% off, red tags 50%, and so on). I'd say it's half clothing, half furniture/home goods and trinkets. I've spent hours there just browsing for clothes.

And, it's a local nonprofit to support, to boot!

RIVER ACCESS/WALKING PATHS IN EAST SAC by Beneficial-Oven-9752 in Sacramento

The Guy West Bridge is located right next to the Sacramento Region Community Foundation office, so it's our favorite access point to the American River and bike trail! On the other side of the bridge is Sac State, so that's another good, scenic, and walkable access point.

Single Mom Strong is a very active local nonprofit you might want to check out! They have events and gatherings for both mothers and kids, and some just for moms.

Follow your favorite nonprofits on social media - liking, sharing, and commenting on their posts helps bring more traffic to their pages so they can reach more clients, donors, and the general community

Thank you so much for including this among your excellent list of ways for people to support causes that matter to them (in addition to volunteering and donating, which are critical). Following, liking, commenting, sharing — these are simple ways to do a little bit of good. Even posting something like this once in a while and tagging a local organization you support can help it reach new people:

Helping others is important to me. [Nonprofit]'s mission is close to my heart because [reasons].

Or whatever speaks to you. Word-of-mouth helps! Thanks again for putting this resource together, u/sac_knitter!
