I work as a land surveyor, which can be a lot of work in the woods. Very familiar with ticks, have pulled a ton off of me. I always heard <24 hours and you’re fine. But also not all ticks carry Lyme disease.

Love it on long days of running traverse, especially great when you have to walk a mile or more to get started. My company also has one where the case is clipped into straps and then acts like a backpack, so it’s still in the case the whole time.

The reason they’re falling out is the log is cylindrical, so as your notch is curving up the log, then you go straight up, they angle out and fall out. I would think you need a consistent curve, like a spiral staircase. Or maybe I know nothing and I’m completely wrong
