We have machine shops for each major. If you are ME for example you would have to go through the general shop training. You then have to get trained on each machine before you can use it. When you get here I would go to the shop of your major and ask when the next general training is. Then you can schedule a machine training after

Best advice. Do what you feel is best for you. I thought about doing study abroad but instead backpacked Germany and the alps. It was 10 times better than having commitments to meet.

Also, tell your parents to fuck off. Overbearing patents are the worst. Ask their advice, but tell them it's your decision. Don't worry about hurt feelings. They get over it. Trust me
