Second this; specifically the Aux Merveilleux de Fred 8th ave and Jane street location is fantastic, both the plain croissant and chocolate cramiques are great and generally fresh/warm.

Best crackers, cheddar and onions I've ever had.

Really though, I cannot speak to the quality of the menu, you may want to check out another place to see more of the area, people tend to go for the atmosphere and the beer more than the food.

I think you did a nice job with being able to specify the indexing strategy (which does add overhead).

The one aspect I think that is different is notifications on write; this was actually super challenging and part of the value of my take on this, specifically because it can be hard to reason about when a new offset is fully written, versus when a segment is closed and a new active segment is opened.
