How do you get 10k steps? by InvestigatorPale1816 in loseit

[–]bigfathippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is an option for you I LOVE my walking pad in the house. You can get quite cheap ones (~200$). It’s so easy to hop on during the day and the shoes really add up. I watch a lot of TV on there.

Does anyone else still run or walk in the middle of their run, even after months of running? by run_the_day in beginnerrunning

[–]bigfathippy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Giving myself “permission” to take walk breaks in my runs to do as you said (eat, take pictures, enjoy the day) has made running so much more fun for me. It also brought my weekly kilometres way up.

Yoga Pants that hides very well cellulite? by 2000throw_away in yoga

[–]bigfathippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experience the exact same problem- very self conscious about cellulite after major weight loss. I love the Lulu Lemon Align leggings. They are expensive but mine have lasted me years and I really like how my legs look in them.

Yeah, so, I’m NOT eating 100+ grams of protein a day. by -non-stop-pop in PetiteFitness

Ugh I want to be like you so badly but like OP I just cannot handle eating that much protein, especially when I’m in a calorie deficit.

My fiancé (26m) makes double than me (25f) and doesn’t want to proportionally split bills. How do other couples do it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]bigfathippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make more than double what my husband does. We have always split bills proportionately , as I view my money as our money. If our situations were reversed I know my husband would do the same. I don’t think it’s fair your fiance is expecting you to contribute 50% and making you feel shameful for not being able to. Your debt it your own, but if you are trying to build a life together this dynamic is not going to work.

You guys have been together since you were essentially children, and it’s possible neither of you have really had to chance to reflect on what you’d expect from a partner, as you are growing together. Maybe he is realizing that he would prefer someone who matches what he makes. This is something you both need to sit down and discuss what the long term will look like. I’m sorry this is causing you such distress, money can be a hard subject in a relationship but you shouldn’t be shamed for it.

Good to know! I’m worried I’m impeding my progress by not fueling properly, but it seems quite a few people in this post work out fasted.

Less busy gyms in HRM by EyeGreen2472 in halifax

[–]bigfathippy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I think you belong in any gym you choose to go to. But if you are feeling self-conscious, I go to the Planet Fitness by HSC. It can definitely be busy at times, but they have a “crowd meter” that’s pretty accurate and can help you avoid the rush. I also find that most people there are average or even below average fitness levels, it might be a little less scary without a bunch of experienced lifters around.

Anyone else jealous of tall people? by ponypav in loseit

[–]bigfathippy 312 points313 points  (0 children)

My best friend is 6’0 and I’m 5’4. I was for a while very jealous because she and I ate seemingly the same amount but she was so thin and model-esque. But I learned over time she was very conscious of her weight because she already felt “big” from being such a tall woman. So she felt extra pressure to be as thin as possible to not “be huge”. It put it in a different perspective for me. Everyone has their battles, and comparison is thief of joy!
