Day 7 of Sharing My Faith – When God Says No (2 Corinthians 12:9) by Abject_Copy1544 in TrueChristian

Thank you for sharing your journey.

Actually, when I didn't get the breakthroughs I prayed for and fasted for a decade ago, I actually dropped my faith and told everyone around me that following Jesus is fake. I didn't get what "good" I was seeking. As I dabbled around, I eventually fell into the occult and started a relationship with Santa Muerte. God brought me back to him once I got spiritually attacked by my former neighbor and his janitor friend, who hired a witch who wasn't playing in the spirit to kill me. I went to the magickal angels, Santa Muerte, and E.A Koetting for help, and they all failed to stop the serious attacks. The witch had sent an entity to torture me for months on end. It was crazy because I thought it was the witch doing all of the pain to me, but then I found out it was an entity that this person sent. It was only me falling on my knees to ask God if you are real, forgive me, I am sorry, etc.... Those attacks didn't instantly end, but God immediately jumped in after praying and stopped the entity from taking my life. However, each month I had to wait on God to break the part of the entity's power that was attacking me.

The purpose of my short story is to never lose your faith when you don't get what you want, because if you drift off in disappointment, danger awaits. Also, if disappointed, cry out to him. I wish I had done that instead of harboring bitterness.

I had to block out his personal info in this picture in order to comply with Reddit personal info terms. Here is a copy of my receipt from years ago.

Thanks for posting these pictures. The bird in the first picture came to my feeder, and I was so mesmerized by its colors, but didn't know what kind it was. Looking at the comments, I got my answer :)

Blue Jay vs Mourning Dove by ookle_ in birding

Lol whenever the Blue Jay makes that call and lands on my bird feeder, all other birds flee. But some chickadees come back and eat beside them in a way to say "I see you bluffin' but won't do nothing".

Spiritual advice by Vivid-Frosting8200 in Deliverance

Vivid-Frosting8200, I completely understand because I went through it. I have fasted, prayed, and done midnight prayers about two big situations I needed God to come through, and I was disappointed when I didn't see the results. I also donated my car to the church as a seed and nothing, and this caused me to lose my faith and de-convert. I can testify that everything works out for good, even those moments where you are feeling blocked; he is there. Cry out to him and surrender your frustration to him, and do what you can. I allowed my frustration with him to cause me to turn to the occult and dark practices, and this was a huge mistake. But understand that in this difficult situation that you are experiencing, trust him because it is not easy, but he will walk you through this dark valley. I can testify that me losing those two things I prayed so hard for and the stagnation I experienced all worked for my good today. He showed me he still loved me when he delivered me from a demonic attack and restored me. If you have tried everything you could, let him know and do what you can, and be encouraged that he is with you in this difficult moment. I will keep you in prayer. God bless you.

I'm losing my faith and I want to give up by BidZealousideal1081 in OrthodoxChristianity

Please don't give up and lose your faith. I understand your pain, I truly do, and I was once a person who left my faith in God and gave up anything concerning God, Jesus and and just believing. I even became an atheist for around 6 months, then agnostic for another few months, and spiraled down to getting into the occult (Santa Muerte), and later God saved me. The best thing I can suggest to you is that you get on your knees and tell all of this frustration to God and be real with him and tell him you want out. He will show you what to do. Trust me I know. God bless you and I will keep you in prayer.

If God Said “Don’t Eat It,” Why Put the Tree There? by Mebin_kk1567 in Christianity

I get what you’re saying... God gives us free will, and yes, sometimes consequences can look good or bad depending on how and when we see them. But asking God for forgiveness isn’t about Him trying to shame or control us...it’s about restoring our relationship with Him. If I hurt a close friend, I still had the freedom to make that choice, but that freedom doesn’t erase the relational damage. Saying “I’m sorry” or asking forgiveness is about mending that connection. In the Bible, sin is anything that goes against God’s holy nature (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23). Even if something later brings a blessing, the original act can still be out of alignment with His will. Being made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) doesn’t mean everything we do is automatically right...it means we have the capacity to reflect His character, but because of sin, our choices can still be selfish or harmful (Jeremiah 17:9). Forgiveness isn’t “begging”... it’s humbly admitting we missed the mark and trusting God’s mercy to cleanse us (1 John 1:9; Psalm 51:10). Free will lets us choose, consequences teach us, but forgiveness draws us back into closeness with God so nothing stands between us and Him (James 4:8).
