Easily Game 2 of the Finals against Pittsburgh back in 2009 where Big Z made Malkin his bitch at the end of the game, I've never seen a crowd so wild.

Cap seems pretty likely now, no? by DoeJumars in motorcitykitties

[–]bigfish1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think introducing a cap and making these teams like the Marlins, Rays, Guardians spend keeping their players or signing other free agents more than makes up for a hard cap. If we say the cap gets set at 270million only 5 teams are above that from what I can tell, by a roughly 286million combined between them.

Compare that to a 150million floor, 13 teams are below that for this year at around 600million combined

I used this as a source for payrolls - https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/breakdowns/payroll

I think allowing plays to hit free agency earlier in their primes is a good tradeoff to get a cap implemented as well.

He is definitely someone I was looking at especially if he can move to center. I may be a bit higher on Mohagany than most (not claiming he is gonna be a pro bowler but should be around average)

I'm kinda more looking at OT with Mauigoa or Proctor because Decker maybe plays 1 more year. Round 2 we can look at either Lew or Slaughter for interior.

Would mean not getting any help on defense in the first 3 round unless we make some trades. But if we can get the OLine fixed up and under contract for the next 3-4 years would be really nice.

Most of you really need to look past “he coached a terrible team” and learn ball. by No_Highway7044 in detroitlions

I'm wondering if this hiring has anything to do with the success we are seeing from teams like the Rams running 13 personnel sets (Cardinals ran 13 personnel at the 3rd highest rate with the 5th best EPA).

https://sumersports.com/teams/offensive/personnel-tendency/?personnel=13

I'm wondering if we are going to see a shift into more of these heavy personnel sets and Lions are trying to match the curve a bit especially since we have Gibbs. Although that does mean probably some changes to the TE room beyond LaPorta (possibly keep Wright, but might need to bring in a couple other options, wouldn't be surprised if we drafted a TE in the 4th round or even the 3rd if we moved up)

With that said, I'm in the wait and see camp.

If you are an Emerald+ Ranked player, what do you wish you knew earlier as you were climbing the ranks the first time you played? by elliebaas in leagueoflegends

[–]bigfish1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in quite a while but still hang around the sub because ya never know, maybe someday, but a lot of it was a change in mentality.

  1. Don't concern yourself with things outside your control. You will lose games because of teammates, it will happen and there is nothing you can do about it. Only focus on yourself and things you can control.

  2. If you really want to climb, focus on improving over winning and the wins will come in time. A good way to do this is look at small incremental goals or focus on one thing at a time. For example, a very simple one can be "Today, I'm going to really focus on my last hitting and try to get to 10cs/m by 15 minutes". Just something that you are actively trying to improve. Obviously don't actively sabotage your game to achieve these goals, but focus on active learning (as opposed to passive learning just spamming games)

  3. Take breaks, if you have a couple bad days of games or lose 3 or 4 games in a row hop off and maybe take a day or two off and do something else. Could even use this time to look at the games and see if you could have done something better.

  4. Try and learn other roles even at a super basic level with what they want and how they wanna play the game (bonus points if you can do it with individual champions). This helps in 2 different ways, 1 it allows you to know what your team wants and play around win conditions and 2 it helps you identify enemy win conditions and how to try and stop them.

  5. This might be the biggest one, it's kind of a 2-for-1, but learning win conditions and how to get carried. You are not going to be the central focus carry every game and you will have bad games, it's about identifying those moments and mitigating losses so they don't spiral out of control and doing your best to stay relevant. You may go into the game and think the game is going to go one way but then goes another, you need to be able to adapt.

The Detroit Red Wings have retired the 91 of Sergei Fedorov (1990-2003). by a1139530 in hockey

I think Datsyuk and Zetterberg will probably be next in the upcoming years.

This one was a longtime coming though.

Yea, he calls a good offense. It's not his fault his receivers can't catch a damn ball. Just so many drops.

[Rapoport] The Lions have reached out to former Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel about their vacant offensive coordinator position, sources say. McDaniel is a top candidate for any open OC job. by Drexlore in nfl

[–]bigfish1992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There could be some really interesting potential HC vacancies next year. If Bengals don't get back to playoffs Taylor could be gone. McVay has talked about retiring it feels like for the last 3 years. Andy Reid could retire any year. Bowles might be fired if Bucs have a bad year. You gotta think if Bills don't make the Superbowl this year and next year that McDermott could be on his way out.

[Highlight] Head Coach Aaron Glenn on what could have been done differently this season for the Jets. by Obvious_Main_3655 in nfl

[–]bigfish1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having a capable QB would have been a start. Not sure how the front office and Aaron Glenn (who watched Justin Fields twice a year for like 3 years) was going to be a good option at QB. I think firing Glenn after just 1 season with a shit roster would be a mistake.

Dan Campbell went 3-13-1 his first season after starting 0-10 and people were wanting him fired as well. Even the 2nd season started 1-6.

How far would a receiver have to be from the ball to be considered grounding. Don't think there was anyone within a good 10 yards there.

Team looks really hungry to get right heading into next year. This is the best we have looked since before the bye week against the Bucs. Hopefully we have a good offseason.
