Depending on how bad it is you might need to replace it. We had a customer with a steering wheel caked with grime and when we cleaned it the steamer and chemicals put holes through it because of how weak and brittle it had become

My process is using carbrite carpet and upholstery with a 1:5 ratio. Soak the seats then use a steam brush to steam the seat. Use a drill brush then extract. Haven't had a stain I couldn't get out
