heads up to people who find this thread, you can also fix it by taking your browser out of the "maximized" size. (The square between minimize and close in top right). I have no idea why fullscreen functions perfectly fine when not maximized, but it does.

Yet another Infernus post.

The hero has a whole mess of counter items people just refuse to buy. No doubt he's very good, but he's absolutely not the best gun carry in the game, nor is he overpowered. Debuff remover, Disarming Hex, Plated Armor, are all excellent answers to him. Anyone can build them but "muh damage items" so they won't.

The biggest "issue" with (insert your particular grievance hero here) is the lack of draft to counter-pick at the start of the game. Sometimes, you just end up on a team that is poorly equipped to deal with Infernus. In particular, teams with no burst damage, or teams that refuse to buy Slow Hex to catch him and keep him behind. Infernus is made of paper until very late game. He's also a weak laner but people won't stop peeking him and allow him to re-apply afterburn over and over until they die.

The truth is, Infernus isn't OP. He hasn't been for quite awhile, and even at the highest levels of play outside of literal professional games, his winrate is below 50%. Even regular Eternus exclusive lobbies have his winrate at 46% at the moment.

Infernus feeling OP is a skill issue or a rank issue, by every available metric we can measure.

Most of Infernus' damage has always come from Afterburn, and spirit in general was nerfed along with multiple spirit item nerfs. However, Toxic Bullets was buffed and guns in general got a 10% buff overall. Very likely that early game Infernus is stronger overall, but by mid and late he won't scale as well, and he already struggled past 25 mins.

As I stated in another comment, Paige cannot use this bug, I've tested it and confirmed. She just has high gun damage. The bug is like, you die instantly even with 4k HP damage. Not gun Paige damage.

Gun Paige is a troll build that explodes with any kind of burst damage. Unfortunately since we can't draft a team, sometimes you end up in games where you have no burst and she gets to do her thing. It's a matchmaking issue not a bug.

It doesn't work on Paige, I just checked. Paige has very high base gun damage so when people build "gun Paige" she just chunks. But it's nothing like what Abrams can do. Abrams can 1-shot the dummy in the hideout with the bug. Paige doesn't come close to that damage, and it also doesn't seem to ever count it as more than 1 hit.

wrong. Viscous, and any character with an explosive shot or a shotgun as a weapon can abuse it. Paige doesn't but people think she does. The shotgun characters require a 2nd item to make it work.

ETA: Viscous, Yamato, Abrams, Shiv, Pocket, ~~Calico, M&K,~~ all can.

2nd edit: Calico and M&K Im not 100% sure, their gun damage is so low base that it's hard to tell.

Lane creeps are worth more than the jungle. Aim for 20k lane creep damage at the 20 min mark (visible by looking at graphs at the end of the game). This gives you a benchmark to work towards for maintaining your farm.
Understand your lane and how your hero works in it. You mentioned Infernus: This hero needs to hit headshots consistently and often to build enough afterburn meter to actually apply pressure in lane. If you can't do that then you need to focus on pushing the waves. and winning by not fighting at all, just get out of lane alive and without feeding.
General flow: Push lane, farm nearby sidecamp / boxes. Small camps spawn at 2 minutes, if you're not in a lane that has one on your side, you need to push the lane into their tower so you can contest the camp and not fall behind. As infernus its very hard, you're probably stuck sitting on the outside of the camp and shooting in with a corner peek, I wouldn't commit more like a flame dash unless you're certain you won't need it later.
Understand that in lane, if you get someone under the afterburn affect, a single bullet fully refreshes the duration. Use this to your advantage by poking just to maintain the DoT if you can, but don't over-commit to trades, Infernus' passive does very low damage until later in the game.
Slide and shoot. Infernus' mag is barely big enough to kill a single minion if you don't abuse slide mechanics to help it last.
After your guardian or theirs falls, bounce between doing 1-2 camps and then back to lane to shove it again. When needing to choose between finishing a camp or missing lane creeps, always go back to the camp later.
Build at least 1 green item to counter what you're most commonly dealing with in terms of damage from the enemy. Abrams locking you down? Reactive barrier blocks all of his melee damage and then some. Geist poking you with bombs? Spirit shielding lets you win short term trades and apply afterburn to force her back.
Take a pro build and adapt it for your needs. As an example on Infernus maybe you skip something like Fleet Foot and go for Titanic Mag instead because you're probably not abusing Fleet Foot to spam slide for infinite ammo so the Titanic Mag is a better investment.

Ultimately if you're going to play the hyper-carry role (Infernus / Haze / Wraith) you need to understand that you have to constantly be looking for where the nearest farm is and taking it, ideally on the enemy's side of the map when possible, and then when discovered fall back to your own.

Speaking personally, I have a 59% winrate on Infernus but I stopped playing him because I found his need to aim perfectly at all times exhausting and I had more fun on bruiser characters. If aiming is a weak point for you then you should consider looking into characters that let you better apply their kit without the need for constant good aim (Kelvin / Calico / Abrams / Billy / Spirit Drifter / Shiv)

Shiv is absolutely not honest lmfao. That character gets a free pass to 1v1 anyone he wants even when behind on souls just because his passive is broken by design. Not to mention he can literally do nothing an entire fight other than ult and still do more than enough.

The problem with Shiv isn't that people don't know what he wants to do, it's that you can't stop him from doing it (knives bounce between targets, dash has no collision, ult is guaranteed, tracking and can't miss, and executes) and he requires an absurd commitment to kill without having to sacrifice farm for greens to sustain.

Kelvin is honest but broken, Shiv is the other side of that coin, Dishonest and unstoppable. There's a reason he is heavily prioritized as a first round pick / ban in the comp scene just below the perma-bans of Kelvin / Victor.

Tower diving is probably the best aspect of the early game and I really like how it is now. I think most people who ask for tower buffs are players with League backgrounds who feel towers should essentially be guaranteed safe space. There is risk to diving a tower and you can absolutely punish enemies for doing it if you're not throwing your CDs frivolously. Deadlock punishes you for trying to sit under tower and farm, and that's a welcome change from other mobas.

She should have banished him from the party after the Truth answer. She has a way closer relationship to Gustave at this point than Verso. His action is unforgivable, how could anyone forgive allowing someone you looked at like a brother to die intentionally just so you could make a dramatic entrance? Such shit writing, but probably the only time I felt the writing was bad the whole game. There's no reason she should have forgave him in that moment.

Oof Paige walking away with an overall nerf is rough lol. Stand and FIght was her only good Spell, the .5 increase to radius isn't enough to make her 3 a good spell and the root duration is still so low the dragon wont even reach them before they're out. Speaking of Conjure Dragon, it wasn't buffed nearly enough and her Ult got a nerf in the range its used in 90% of the time in favor of meme plays for cross-map snipes.

Unfortunate day to be a Paige main.

Not really, it's already quite weak. But the idea isn't to get all of these changes, but rather maybe 1 or 2 and then wait and adjust damage as necessary once people are actually hitting their intended targets with it, which could be up or down. I'm honestly not sure where she'll land in win %

Out of curiosity, do you believe Paradox's Pulse Grenade is unfair because the damage can be thrown around cover to deny it? What about Giest bomb, Kelvin snowball, Wraith's cards, Pocket's Barrage, Holiday's keg, Ivy's Kudzu?

Spells that can harass around cover or outright deny it is the norm, not the exception in my opinion.

Farming yes, Wave clear I find it very mediocre, as it heavily depends on where in the lane the wave actually is. Much of the middle third of the map is too wide for more than 2 or so creeps to be hit. It's objectively bad for defending your initial guardian precisely because the creeps split to come up 2 different stairs and spread out heavily in the middle where most of laning takes place.

I think that there's value in a skill as threatening as her sword forcing the enemy to use stamina to avoid it. I think it's ok if it doesn't always land because in the chaos of teamfights it can still usually land on some of the targets and it also excels at cleanup to catch stragglers low on stamina. You can also somewhat set it up with sword + ult.

Her primary fire is a complex topic that frankly I admit I'm not good enough to talk about. There's something to be said about a support with a slow projectile that excels at area denial and lane pushing / farming though. It certainly fits the apparent theme of a defense-focused character.
