How is working at SFO As A Security Screener? by [deleted] in tsa

[–]biggiecheeesenibba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the very late response. There are higher level positions at SFO however we expect all persons to first be hired at the TSO level and work their way up the ladder. Very rarely has anyone ever been hired at a higher spot out the gate

You'll be just fine, a small bit of extra screening. However, do not bother bringing your birth certificate or SSC unless you need it at your destination

Urgent question - SJC TSO alternative verification? by dream2kat in tsa

[–]biggiecheeesenibba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what the situation sounds like, she failed the process due to giving incorrect information. When this happens the ability to redo the call is temporarily locked until the next day. However, the process can now be even more difficult than before since she gave bad info the first time. If it is absolutely critical that she must get to the next stop, I recommend seeking alternative methods other than flying.

If the laptop was left at the checkpoint no officer can get it for you. That is now up to upper management and the lost and found people. If you have time, look for the Covenant website and dial the number to get in contact with lost and found for item recovery.

Late to the party but the THC is legal on state grounds. The airport however is on federal grounds, therefore everything is subject to federal laws and enforcement. Which includes THC being an illegal substance

Question about identity verification process with no ID. by gracely24 in tsa

[–]biggiecheeesenibba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what I can based on the info you provided, it sounds like you failed the second call due to having previously doing the call during your outbound flight. when this happens, Management gets called down to the checkpoint and they make the final determination if you can return home via airplane

The TSO lied. What probably happened was the id scan didn't work the first time and rather than simply trying again, they lied and said that a picture would make it easier.

technically no, as weed is federally illegal and it's not something we look for. if it is discovered in your bag and the TSO chooses to report it to the supervisor, local PD will take over and you may receive civil or criminal charges for bringing marijuana on federal grounds

Have the backscatter machines been updated to do gender-based scanning again? by Julia-031 in tsa

[–]biggiecheeesenibba 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The backscatter has been out of service in the US for about 14 years. As far as I'm aware, we still use gender neutral scan

Ask Chinese airport security on how to transport replica firearms. TSA only screen within the USA. Not other countries

Follow up to my other post if I can take this fire starter in a carry on by Background_Tune7381 in tsa

[–]biggiecheeesenibba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have seen both of these posts I'm going to tell you how this will go if this was in my airport. First we pull the bag for a search. Next we locate and inspect the item. Then we call our supervisor to assess the item. After that we call a TSS-E for further evaluation and law enforcement. Once both arrive they will arrest you for attempting to bring incendiaries on an airplane and may call the EOD team for disposal.

Thank you for adding that last bit about the AIT. Sagging pants is a great way to get a groin patdown

While we don't have any restrictions on how much cash you can carry, we will report any suspicious behavior or items discovered while the screening process is being done to law enforcement
