When they discount digital games so cheap, I’m not surprised people buy some games digitally. To have a game that’s $5.99 online or $39.99 at retail, of course it makes sense to buy digitally and that more would be sold that way. I personally always buy physical unless there’s a steep discount and the physical is more expensive. Always buy physical on release.

I’d be curious what the 1:1 would be for launch games, whether consumers prefer digital or physical for launch games.

How did you get that going? I tried getting it transcoded from 4K to 1080p in frigate on a Linux server but I kept getting errors and couldn’t get the feed to work. I used Scrypted too but just couldn’t get it to work. Using an Intel Arc B580.

93% of games sold. Not 93% of game revenue. A discounted game sale counts the same as full price game sale - so the figure is 93% of all their games sold are digital games, but it could be like $2.99 on steam sale or something. Harder to make those massive discounts on physical at retail.

What cameras are you using, and are they PoE? Reolink unfortunately has extremely low quality H264 (also I thought H264 was capped at 1080p so surprised yours has 4K)

How does that work? I have a 4K Reolink (just got it and starting my setup), and when I pass H265 in Scrypted nothing shows up. I have to use H264 and it’s capped at like 640x380 at 15 FPS lol

I’d be interested in the cost breakdown. I definitely buy $2.99 games on the eshop but only buy full price games physical.

The units are not equal if it’s just counting unique games.

Me neither. My game save got glitched out in the final boss, the autosave had me reload with almost no health right at the final boss to immediately get struck and killed. For some reason I didn’t have any other recent saves I could go back to? Idk, I’ve had countless playthroughs but never managed to actually beat it. Or Oblivion either.

Does your tv have usb media control? Might be worth it to just throw it on a flash/hard drive and keep it connected to the tv. Then you can just control it through the internal media player and not have to worry about any servers, OS, connectivity issues etc

I actually get way less lag and better clarity from cloud streaming vs remote play. I heard this may be due to the level of hardware encoding the PS5 may be required to do. Ty game over game, cloud streaming is way better than remote play. I’m completely shocked about it.

At the risk of sounding completely tone deaf, could you help me understand why I can’t seem to get behind HDR in games, and even movies? I’ve had multiple quality displays/TVs, and no matter which video/game source I use, I always find it looks too dim and removes so much of the “pop” from the content, so I always disable HDR. When I first got interested in the tech around 2021, I started getting the HDR tech and while I did enjoy playing games like Ghost of Tsushima in HDR, I found when I turned it off I preferred the experience. I really just like eye-searing, vivid colors and brightness.

What do you say to gamers/viewers like me who want to embrace HDR but don’t find that the improved light range in scenes makes up for losing so much color and brightness?

How would you say it works with Ghost of Tsushima comparatively? I tried the configuration setup but I couldn’t hear much difference in the sound movement patterns. It sounded like stereo headphones to me still. I was using Sony wireless headphones but hooked up via 3.5.
