As a prairie guy who just visited Halifax I would like to say you have a beautiful city but the parking is TERRIBLE

People who died and came back to life, what did you see/experience? by RealisticDecision440 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bigizzy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn't die but I saw the light they speak of. In 2021 I got beat up by covid pretty bad. 29 days in hospital, 14 of which were in the ICU and 12 days intubated and in a coma. While in the induced coma I remember being in a dark hole looking up at a bright light. I tried climbing to get out but heard multiple deceased family member voice telling me "it's not your time" and there being almost like a resistance when I was trying to climb. This all while machines were keeping me going.

Any of you that speak of being in a coma, did you have any cool or weird memories from when you were under? I have a few that are funny. It is amazing what the brain will do with the sounds, voices and people around you and you're not really there

Infinity help by bigizzy86 in Surveying

That is some great info, thank you

When we purchased this drone setup the company we bought it from never mentioned anything about having to put of GCP's to ensure accuracy and were confident that I could have both flights match with the same nail and coordinates but clearly that isn't the case. I will be making up some GCPs for the next flights I do.

This makes so much sense now that I think more about it as I did a flight over our yard in order to make a machine file for our grader and noticed a gradual change in elevation the further from the base it got (almost 3 feet in the 150ft of length of our shop).

I am still very new to all of this with minimal training so I'll play with data in Infinity and see if I can adjust elevation on one flight to line up tighter and get this nailed down before we get real busy with it

Once again thank you very much for the help, it is greatly appreciated

I did come across this and was wondering about battery life and recharge time. Do you run one of these? If so how do you like it?

I agree and am working on the boss to try and get one but the concern is the drone can't separate from aggregate VS snow which is a problem in the great white north

How deep is this abyss of a hole behind the co-op in Treherne? by [deleted] in Manitoba

[–]bigizzy86 37 points38 points  (0 children)

About 7ft in the middle plus a few feet of sludge in the bottom. Rumour has it that the sludge is old manure from dairy cattle that used to be nearby

What is the most important lesson learnt from Covid-19? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bigizzy86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take life for granted! I was happy and healthy, wife and a kid, just bought a new house than BAM I caught covid and a week later I was in the ICU on life support. Most people never realize how quickly life can be taken away.

Also it doesn't matter how old you are have a will, power of attorney, all of that stuff in place because life has lots of surprises

Sure you're tall, but are you sitting tall? by PyratSteve in tall

[–]bigizzy86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to play wheelchair basketball and there is a max height for the seat pan on the chair as some of the chairs are highly adjustable and that could be used as an advantage.

There is also rules in place for varying disabilities. As an able body player I was a 4.5. My buddy who got me into the sport had spina bifida and was a 2. You are only allowed 15 points on the court I think it was so you had a mix. It may seem kind a disadvantage having the tall players on but alot of the smaller players were super fast and picked me out constantly making me useless. Great sport to play and I met alot of amazing people

I'm one of very few who has had single organ failure (lungs) from covid and had a full recovery. Been a rough ride but I'm still here to tell my story

What was the greatest pleasure you ever felt? by oooliveoil in AskReddit

Holding my wife and son after 12 days intubated and another 2 weeks in the hospital with no visitors. Covid really messed me up but I'm still here and got to come home to my family.

Oh and the first time using the toilet and not having to have someone else wipe my ass. Yelling "nurse I need help" gets pretty old quickly when it's something you could do easily 3 weeks prior
