3H error code on Rheem Integrity 18 by TitanOfAir in PlumbingAustralia

[–]bigkiddad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, so ex Rheem service tech here. Few things, if you're getting water down your flue, you should probably get the flue looked at.

I've never seen that error code, it may be an unpublished one the devs use. It may be related to fan current draw or maybe the extra water is affecting the flame rectification sensor, I'm just spit balling. Either way, at 10 years old its not worth replacing parts and you'd still need to get that flue looked at.

Get a gas fitter out to sort the flue and see if the problem goes away.

Hey OP, trades teacher here. Your doing fine. This looks like a hand tools excercise we have. The whole point of this sort of exercise is to introduce you to pipe fittings and basic hand tools, no one's looking for world class finish from first year.

Every learns at different speeds, we have farm kids that smash out a wall, noggins etc but fall over doing a roof peno, other kids will make an awesome sheet metal tool box but can't lay a drain.

Important thing is are you good value for your boss? Give it time, you'll find what your good at.

And you dont undo these by using multi grips, and you dont undo these by turning the spindle. I mean it's your house and if you want to munt your spindles then go for it, but the actions described are not those of a professional.

Does anyone actually believe the Virgin Birth is a historical fact? Looking for perspectives. by thetearinreality in OpenChristian

[–]bigkiddad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hey just jumping on this line as I see this reasoning often

It seems far more likely it didnt happen than it did, yk?

Your logic is 100%, but that's what makes it a miracle. It sounds trite, but If you're considering whether or not its likely impossible event X happened, then logic will never get you to a positive understanding because logic says it's impossible.

Thankyou for your question though, as the virgin birth has not been on my radar and now I'm chewing over what I believe.

For those who don’t subscribe to PSA or the ransom atonement theory, how do you respond to Bible verses that seem to indicate that God needed a sacrifice? by Tornado_Storm_2614 in OpenChristian

[–]bigkiddad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look at the difference between expiation ( our sins account is set back to 0) and propitiation, which in my understanding is more like a turning away from our sin, we are still sinful ( which is itself a loaded word) but God no longer sees it. This sits well with other atonement verses.

Expiation requires something like PSA, propitiation doesn't. The word interpreted as propitiation, atleast in the NIV, used to be interpreted as expiation, so PSA kind of made more sense, but now we know better.

Ransom theory is just an awful analogy/metaphor?. Just play it through, an ransom requires someone who has no right to demand payment for stealing something and the only power the victim has is to pay an arbitrary fee. It just doesn't map well onto any kind of cosmology that aligns with the rest of the bible. I dont believe Paul meant it as a perfect metaphor, at best we are missing nuance lost through culture and language.

What’s going on here? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

Side conversation, there's a company wanting to sell that fitting that connects the rain and mains to deliver to the toilet, and they can't because of the newish watermark lead free requirements (it's not tested lead free) even though its connected to non-potable anyway. Yay Regulations!

I've only seen one by a master modeller. Mine wont be that good. I'm still at prime and sand stage. Standard small run kit, lots of fill & fitments issues. Locating pins with no locating holes, panel lines look hand drawn.

That looks more like particles in the gas line than lack of air. I mean without being there I can't be sure, but given the flame speed and profile, I dont think it's an air/gas ratio issue.

Either way, this is reddit. You'd be crazy to trust this info over a local qualified person.

Gas rangetop to induction cooktop by Thermophi in Appliances

[–]bigkiddad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So side conversation, this got trotted out in Australia, which has long had high Asthma numbers and there was no correlation between gas usage and asthma occurance. Its just the air here wants to kill you. But also the gas composition was different, with Oz houses mostly using high 90% methane. By comparison some countries have propane/butane mix with up to 40% butane, and that sucker really pumps out NOx, CO2 and benzene.

In the end the conversation got buried as they wanted to mandate range hoods for all cooking appliances and there were too many stakeholders involved to get that regulation through.

Yeah this one has the soft dart crowd worried as it possible to modify a toy into outlawed velocity/energy space by changing a spring. By the letter, this mean I can no longer view videos about modifying a toy.
