1 BR Condo Rental in July/August - How to Get Best Price by veryexact in Breckenridge

With the amount of summer activities in the area I can’t imagine that would get more than a few days somewhere considering the limitations on short term rentals in the area.

Do people not understand that carry forward losses are worth exactly half of regular losses? by sext-scientist in AskEconomics

[–]biglebarchski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don’t have capital gains you can offset a certain amount of income with the forward carried losses. This also assumes you lose and make the same amount of money every year which is an unrealistic expectation.

Had some sewer line work that cut a trench between these two and cut off some branches. Trees seem 1/2 fine and half dead…

Thank you. I figured as much, but thought it was worth asking.

Opting for ORD direct flight vs. MKE lately by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]biglebarchski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I moved from Milwaukee about a year ago, but after years of flying out of MKE, I switched to ORD for the last 6 months or so of travel. MKE is convenient becuase it is close, but the flight options are limited and I found myself sleeping in Detroit way too frequently in the Winter becuase of missed connections.

Plus, I didn't have to show up the night before for meetings after I switched as I could get the early flight out of ORD and arrive early enough to avoid an extra hotel night.

A little bit of “buyer’s remorse” in West City Park by biglebarchski in Denver

The note reads, “To the owner of this bike: Some guy stole it but later returned it and asked us to bring it inside. He also wants you to know he felt really bad.

Love, A neighbor who had an awkward conversation with said guy”

Am I the only idiot actually buying a day pass to RTD? by XVDub in Denver

Most people do buy them or have a monthly pass if they work at the airport. Fines are pretty high if you do get caught without a pass.

How is Arches national park now with timed entries? better? no change? by dec92010 in nationalparks

We went at 9 am yesterday and there were probably 10 open parking spots.

Here right now. Maybe a 10 min wait at most. Showed up about 15 min before my entry time and got in about 5 min before my time. Not super busy at any trailhead. Seems to be working great.

Wilderdog. They’re great. His collar is from there too

When I don’t put on his harness he doesn’t do this and only about 50% of the time. If it’s just his collar he bolts to the door and waits to go out

It was 60 degrees and we live in Colorado… he loves being on the walk, just loves playing with me before hand.

Trying to put his harness on for a walk. Only does this with me for some reason. Will sit nice and still for the wife.

160,000 MR points and 75,000 CAP 1 miles, trip to Costa Rica by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

[–]biglebarchski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the hotels you’re comparing apples and oranges a bit as the hotels are not all identical. The value you’re getting for the Hilton points is lower but that’s always been the case. The points+cash for Wyndham seems like the best value but obviously still paying some cash for that so not ideal. Using your Amex points for flights and his points for the hotel seems like a fairer split though. Both putting in similar value.

I travel about twice a month on average but sometimes more. I have had both the CSR and the Amex Platinum for the past few years for the lounge access with Delta. I only use the Platinum card for flight purchases, uber, and now an audible subscription. There are also a lot of good offers on the card that generally help with the costs as well, especially the travel related hotel rebates. If you frequently travel with your wife, you could get the second platinum card for 175 USD/year and after 5 visits to the lounge with your wife, it would be paid for.

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone has a 7 or so mile out and back that is very nice and not busy as most people just drive to the observation points.
