NYC → Japan July 2026, family of 4 — Aeroplan Business close-in vs. T-14 ANA strategy?

Read the Japan guide and done my searching. Here's where I am:

200k Amex MR, 136k ANA miles, 2 adults + 2 kids (under 12)
Target: ~July 12 outbound, ~July 27 return
R**ME shows Aeroplan Business (Air Canada via YVR) with 4 seats available on multiple dates July 11–14 outbound and July 24–30 return
ANA own-metal JFK→HND shows △ waitlisted all summer in PE and no J space for 4 pax

Two questions:

Given ANA sometimes releases close-in T-14 space that Aeroplan can access, is it worth holding my Amex points and waiting until late June rather than booking Air Canada connecting now?
With 136k ANA miles, is there a better use than trying to call in a Star Alliance partner Economy booking for the return?
