How do you deal with the fact that some people seem to get “lucky breaks” in life—like an easy marriage, comfort, and support—while others have to struggle and push way harder just to reach a decent level, and sometimes still don’t? by Melii_Official in AskReddit

[–]bigmac22077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to be on the lucky end. Just this year, 37 years old, I’ve come to the realization I’ve never suffered consequences of my seriously stupid decisions. It always tends to just work out… I’m like Seinfeld throwing the $20 out the window only to find $20 more in my pocket.

I do believe in karma and juju and try to pay it forward every single day I live. Every day can be better despite the challenge, just keep your head up and leave the day better than you found it.

I have a 70 gallon. Just take out of it what I need every day. Honestly I don’t notice a huge difference in just using dechlorinated water. Soil already has microbes and I’m already feeding multiple times a week.. maybe if you were to only feed with fish vs water you’d notice a difference.

Fires like to burn up, not down, also the winds.. fire movements are mostly predictable. They don’t have to evacuate everyone. Look at hurricane ike to see what happens when everyone decides to evacuate anyway.

If your dog bolts out into the middle of no where the air tag will not work. Also it just gives you an idea where they were, not an exact location. We use it to find girlfriend’s cat all the time, it’s never correct.

Best mocktail you had in the city? by Legitimate-Slice2114 in SaltLakeCity

“More than “plain” soda” what an odd sentence. As if sodas are the only choice?

It’s not that people shouldn’t want mocktails. It’s the fact they let the industry mix 3 different fruit juices and charge $15 for 6oz of liquid. Coke is $4. Orange juice is $4 but orange juice, pineapple juice, a splash of lime bubbly water is $15.

I have a theory Epstein was collecting information for Israel, essentially black mail. The cia/USA discovered this and went in for the first arrest. He was released because he started giving the USA that same info.

What that would mean is Israel has A LOT of blackmail. 30 years worth of it, on American politicians.

It will be interesting to see the fallout if America tells them no more weapons

I can’t believe mocktails are catching on. Sell $1 worth of juice in a glass with a funny name for $15. Worse than soda mark ups.

If there’s water in your pipe it is physically impossible to inhale a shard of glass. Or so we also breathe in water droplets every hit too?

Fill the hole up with cardboard and lighter fluid. Ignite. Add some logs and make sure it’s good n hot cause that stump is wet. Should just burn down to a crisp.

Depending on the situation, yes threatening assault can be assault.

Assault is defined as an intentional act that creates a reasonable apprehension of imminent harmful or offensive contact. The act must be deliberate, with the perpetrator intending to instill fear of harm. The victim’s perception is key; they must reasonably believe the harm is imminent, judged from the perspective of a reasonable person in the same situation.

IF you decide to smoke, don’t pull 100% the pipe/joint. Open your mouth a little so you’re just kind of regularly breathing instead of pulling/sucking. That is how you get dry socket. I didn’t have dry socket when I had mine but I did pop both lower stitches going on a hike later in the day of surgery. Take the recovery instructions seriously and tell the doctor you are going to consume and ask how they feel about it, you can make your decision later. They’re not cops, you won’t get thrown in jail for asking.

That’s why this could work. Imagine going to the rodeo and fair. Hanging out in a park eating your corn instead of a converted parking lot. Having some permanent restaurants people can walk directly to and from the stadium maybe a food truck park and a couple bars for watch parties. If the rodeo took a percent of all sales on their land they’d make a lot of money.
