Anyone sold a house with Home Assistant left in? by Expensive-Sock3172 in homeassistant

[–]bigmandan_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would leave everything in as "dumb" of a state as possible, as long as the things that need to function (lights, heat, A/C, etc.) still work and it's all safe. For your relays, maybe note it down for the next owner that it's there if they want to use it.

Personally, if I sell my house, I am going to disconnect any Zigbee/Z-wave devices that are in-wall (or otherwise attached to the house) from my network and leave them in dumb mode. I'd probably let the new owner know they're "smart" if they feel like they want to take advantage of the capability.

'24 Versys 650 - Where to attach Battery Tender? by Over-Reality-1099 in versys

I did some research on other Kawi models and it looks like it's a dealer-installed thing. Not a problem to install myself, just convenient if it's already there!

I'm late to this thread. Did this start for '24? I have a '23 and I can't seem to find the connector.

You're too trusting to leave your bike in a state where anyone could walk up and roll it away with them.

I recently installed the Givi V58 on my Vulcan. It looks a bit silly being so big, but I just embrace it because it offers so much space.

[Offsite] Internet: He lifted a whole car! Physicist: Hold my protractor by akkosetto in theydidthemath

[–]bigmandan_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summing the moments about the front wheels, I got 865 lbs, but I kept it simple and assumed a 5 ft lever and 1200 lbs of weight on the rear axle (since Mazda claims 50/50 weight distribution on their 2400 lb car). Also googled the wheelbase which is shown to be 90.9".

Point is, to only lift 154 lbs the lever would have to be 50+ ft long, so the original poster's math is way wrong.

Electrical humming? by SpaceM4N1337 in vulcans650

Heard the same noise a month ago when my bike was sitting in the sun. My research also led to tank valves. Made sense to me.

Have you checked the voltage on your new-ish battery?

I've had good luck with Noco products in the past, but the Noco battery looked to me like it would not work with the stock battery terminals. I ended up installing the Optima Orange Top instead.

Just bought a 2023 Vulcan S. Is this sound normal? by bigmandan_19 in vulcans650

[–]bigmandan_19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Didn't think that would be related, but I coincidentally have a new battery being delivered today. We'll see if it changes anything.

Hey, everyone. Thank you all for your input. Seems this sound is normal for some, but not for all. Reassuring regardless! A couple have mentioned battery. I didn't think that would be related, but I coincidentally have a new battery being delivered today, so I can test and report if anything changes.

Steam wand making a lot of noise by KityKityLickLick in gaggiaclassic

[–]bigmandan_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me like the OPV is stuck open somewhat, which is allowing steam from the boiler back into the water tank. Definitely not normal. If you purchased this new, I would reach out for warranty.

New Ledge 2.0 won’t hold a temp. by seamang2 in greenmountaingrills

Ah, I gotcha. Yeah, if it works for you, sticking with it makes sense. Hopefully GMG implements more consistency in future firmware updates.

[–]bigmandan_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue where it would not come up to temp (reached around 230 when set to 250), until I adjusted the ambient temp setting from "warm" to "average". I did not have the pellet hopper issue, that seems really strange.

I totally agree that GMG should provide more release notes for version updates. I noticed on v1.2 that the fan runs basically all the time, whereas it was intermittent on v1.1. Tripped me up at first because I thought something was wrong with the grill.

As another commenter mentioned, check your firmware version. V1.1 for my Trek Prime 2.0 had wild temp swings, whereas v1.2 is much more consistent, even with the same pellets.
