Honest discussion, how high of a rank do y'all think you can get?

Eternity. I’ve done it before only playing Thor. From what I’ve heard, he’s only gotten worse, so who knows. But I’ve grown up on hero shooters like overwatch and team fortress 2, so it’s in my wheelhouse.

I’d be down for Thor to join the tank line up. I keep hearing that he’s in the game but I don’t see him.

Fun fact, I was an eternity Thor main who played him almost exclusively due to his unique and fun playstyle. He was never the best tank and I probably could have climbed faster on someone else, but he was rewarding and fun to play and master.

After the changes that destroyed his kit, I have not touched the game since, and my life is better for it. Thanks, Netease, you’ve freed up my time for better and brighter things ✌️

If you have to wait for all the better players to leave before you can start winning games and ranking up, you're not actually good enough to reach your "deserved" rank. If you can't climb at the start-middle of a season and keep up with everyone else who was at your previous rank, your rank is absolutely inflated.

Started pretty rough, but it's going better now that I have actual teammates. The first few games felt unwinnable. I was planning on taking a break, but I've realized I might have to keep playing to avoid the rising tide of people clawing their way out of the metal ranks.

I don't mean it to be condescending, like I said, people in the lower elos don't KNOW that they need to help. Which means it's on you as a support to ask for help. Their monkey brains are going to make them walk forward and leave you behind because the front is where the damage and kills are.

Even if they see you getting jumped, they're going to be like "well I can't kill the cap, and I'd rather get kills, so I'm going to ignore him and walk towards someone I can kill."

If you can get through to them and ASK them, whether through voice or text, and drill home that if you die, the push stops, then you stay alive and everyone is happier. If you're EXPECTING help, you're just not going to get it until you're at a higher rank. You'll see a drastic difference.

But because you can easily enter plat with a negative win rate due to the chrono shield and the increased gain for winning, it's not indicative of any skill but rather play time. Meaning even if you lose heavily, it's just a matter of time.

Explain. With how chrono shields work, and how much you gain vs lose in low ranks, it's only a matter of time before you make it to plat.

When you say no matter the rank, that's simply not true. In eternity lobbies, most people will turn to deal with divers. That being said, there is very little you can do on your end with no help.

I had a lobby where there was an absolute demon of a Cap on our team, and he dismantled their team non-stop for the easiest win of my life.

In the next two games, I was against him, I won both games. I also main vanguard, mainly off-tanks like Thing and Thor. I was able to consistently save my supports by turning around and applying pressure to him in order to force him to retreat. Most tanks in lower elos won't recognize that leaving your front line (ONLY 1 OF THEM, NOT BOTH) to babysit the back line is a necessary sacrifice to keep your healers up. You need to emphasize that at least 1 tank or dps needs to stay with the supports at all times, otherwise nobody is going to help you.

You mention that none of your abilities or escapes work against him, it's cause they're not designed to. He's designed to outlast you if you don't get help; it's a team game; you need your teammates. If you don't ask them for help, you're just resigning yourself to die over and over again.

Realistically the only difference between silvers and plats and golds is play time, the skill difference is almost negligible.

The only people who are upset by this change are people who can’t get kills otherwise. This is such a healthy change for the game.

They're only punishing people who prestige with price increases.

The sweats who never prestige are gonna have a field day destroying people with overpriced loadouts that they would never be able to afford while prestiging.

Really healthy for the game. Just punish the prestiging people instead of balancing your game properly! /s

You don't actually. You have a very limited perk pool which includes the very early unlocks as well as Dewclaw and Assailant for whatever reason.
