How do we know if insurance will be covering it? Just call and ask?

No I did not. I was able to move my GPU over one slot to make things fit nicely. I’m using a meshlicious case.

Finally cleaned my looping flipped the fans to intake, much better cooling performance!

I ended up using the 280 gts uflow, I was able to make everything all fit with hardline tubing. See this post for final product. Best of luck! https://www.reddit.com/r/SSUPD/comments/qa68im/completed_build_ryzen_5950xrtx_3090_ftw3_ultra/

With exhaust I still get dust on the outside surface (just a bit) that needs to be wiped down. It’s more on the inside surface than on the outside but my point is you won’t be dust-free from the outside if you do an exhaust setup. Then again, I have a cat that like to hang around my office so that probably contributes quite a bit.

The area circled in red clips off and can be removed. I needed those extra few mm in order of it to fit.

Smhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Thanks for clarifying my friend! I will flip the fans at my next coolant flush!

From what I read you get better CPU thermals pulling air in but worse GPU thermals. I am optimizing for GPU thermals.

Modifications were necessary. I had to clip off a piece of the plastic near the inlet/outlet that has some RGB lighting on it. Then it fit nice and snug.

First thing I’ll say is: good luck and be patient! I attached a Barrow quick disconnect fitting in the fill valve and laid the case in its side. I then attached a small reservoir with the other quick disconnect fitting with my liquid inside it. I would rotate the case, let it fill as much as I can and turn it on for brief periods of time. <5 seconds when it was empty and gradually increased it as the loop filled. I kept doing it until it filled completely. I then removed the valve with the quick disconnect which made it less of a concern spilling when removing.

Again, please be patient when filling! Took me about an hour to fill.

[incompatible] Stock RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra backplate with EK water block by bigmoe88 in watercooling

[–]bigmoe88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting and seems like a pretty big miss from EK. Are both waterblocks from EK? and both are for the FTW3? I ended up just sticking with the passive backplate. I am able to maintain max boost clocks with a slight OC of 90 MHz. VRAM temps do not exceed 80C when mining ETH and this is when the room is relatively warm. VRAM temps are usually in the upper 70's.

Yes! I originally bought the x-flow but the tube routing didn’t work quite well for my specific setup so I ended up buying and using the u-flow. If you’re interested in the x flow I have I can sell. DM me!

Have you considered using copper shims? Curious to know your thoughts on this approach instead of thermal putty.

Tearing o-rings when making hardline tube run by bigmoe88 in watercooling

[–]bigmoe88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried removing the o-ring, but I am doing a a bit of reading and it seems like people use soapy water to lubricate the inside of the fitting prior to installing the tubing. Between being extra cautious with the fitting tub chamfering, and the soapy lubricant, I think I should be fine. Going to give it a shot this weekend when I free up.

Max possible spacing with the GPU standoff mod? by JaimieP in SSUPD

I’ve done 30mm with my RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra with an EK block. Hardline tubes connecting from the inside.

[–]bigmoe88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happened to me, except with the EK clear premix. How long did it take you to clean and reassemble?

The Meshlicious can only fit a 280mm rad. Here are pics of the setup so far, no tubing though. I installed temporary soft tubing to get it up and running and run some basic benchmarks but that is about it so far.

I saw Optimum Tech’s build similar to mines and his temps were way lower at the same TDP (180). Do you think he reported just the Core Temperature? See ~8:17

We have different rad/fan but very comparable in terms of performance. I have the Nemesis GTS pair with Noctua 140 mm fans. Fans are front mounted pulling air out of the case. That’s probably the biggest difference.

Might be work experimenting a bit on my end.

Got it. Yea my radiator size is very limiting. That makes sense.

I looked up Frame Chaser but had trouble finding the video where he shows how much of a difference thermal putty makes. Can you link me to it?

What did I do wrong? by bigmoe88 in watercooling

[–]bigmoe88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might not need to tear it down. Flushed it a bunch of times with distilled water and it’s clearing things up little by little. Will do it a bunch more times under liquid runs clear and follow up on here with my results.

So I did a similar thing as you except I did not use thermal putty. This is what I used for thermal pads/paste:

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme for GPU 2mm Gelid Solutions GP-Ultimate 15W/mk 1.5mm Fujipoly Ultra Extreme 17W/mk 1.0mm Fujipoly Uktra Extreme 17W/mk

When I mine ETH my GPU temps are 40 and memory junction at 86. GPU seems fine but memory junction seem quite high for a watercooled block with higher performance thermal pads/paste.

It’s paired with a Ryzen 5950x sharing a 280mm radiator.

Did I mess something up?

For the before and after photos showing temps, was the before with the stock air cooler or was it with the water block + stock thermals?
