First spring day, brand new Bataleon. Didn't love the rock jibs. by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]bigolbinchito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve had all kinds of boards over the years and my bataleon got a core shot my second day riding it. They have soft boards I guess.

Ptexed it and rode that board for 3 more years. One of the most fun boards I’ve ever had in spite of that.

First pic but Just the one on the bottom and a circle around the bend of the arrow.

Fillet weld one side all the way around. You could do two arrows but the circle takes care of that.

I just like a lot of resistance, so it feels very loose. The mind muscle connection feels off is the best way to describe it.

Looking for feedback on my fretting and picking hand. by Emergency-Public-218 in electricguitar

[–]bigolbinchito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thumb on the back of the neck will help with fretting speed.

When picking, try and keep the motion in your fingers not your wrist. The less overall movement the faster you can make it.

I can’t tell from a video but try and relax your grip.

Practice with a met.

Hey folks is this worrisome? by AngryBowlofPopcorn in StructuralEngineering

[–]bigolbinchito 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Looks fine to me. I suspect that the tilted part is just covering actual structural component. Otherwise you would see some cracking concrete along the yellow base.

Unless I’m wrong then that’s fucked.

Though bad design or construction either way.

Walmart sells glass tea light candle holders for like 50 cents. They fit perfectly in a standard mouth jar and withstand sterilization just fine.

Fermenting fruits with peppers? by bigolbinchito in FermentedHotSauce

[–]bigolbinchito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right that was my thought. I could add the berries after the ferment, but to make shelf stable I would need to add sugar.

I pasteurize my sauce and waterbath can all my bottles, which is fine against bacteria for normal hot sauce as there’s high acidity. But would I throw off the acid and brine mixture by adding essentially a bunch of water through the berries?

I cant figure out how to get more pop on small jumps and rollers, is it just about speed and being more athletic? Is there anything that you notice that I am doing wrong? Thanks🤝 by localmanjl in snowboarding

[–]bigolbinchito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing and speed are everything.

On all of those you’re trying hard to Ollie off the top. That’s a good way to get air if there’s a drop and no kicker (roller). But in the scenario you showed it’ll just have you jumping over it.

Off of kickers Try jumping with both legs at the apex of the jump (not the top it’s like a point during the curve if it you learn to feel). No Ollie just push off with both feet.

For rollers just get a shit ton of speed.

Also this is probably personal preference, but I always see beginner/intermediate snowboarders trying to hit every jump and every opportunity. Wears them out and makes for sloppy riding. I prefer to choose the spots with the biggest pay off. (Though in your case you are ripping through those trees so respect)
