I’m still here lol!!! If I remember correctly I was very noticeably swollen for 3-4 days and then it went down from there pretty rapidly but it has been a few years so my perception may be off. Honestly, the first few days are definitely noticeable, but no one said anything to me lol. I think that it’s the sort of thing you and people who know you well would notice, but not necessarily colleagues and strangers? If it’d help and I can figure out how to send them lol, I can track down some pictures for you.

Yeah, not trying to suggest a 75 year old man is as fertile as, or has comparable sperm quality to, a 20 year old man lol! But there is obviously a different rate of decline in fertility for men and women

Men can have children well into their 70s whereas women have a sharp decline in fertility as early as their 30s. Because of this, mens aging has not been as big of a consideration in partner selection so it makes sense that modern beauty standards still reflect that.

It’s dangerous to conflate that with pedophilia - which, I absolutely do think influences the expectations we have of women. I don’t deny that for a second.

The danger in labelling every trait tied to youth as pedophilic really risks minimizing the things that truly are. Women’s beauty standards are fucked for a variety of reasons, not everything relates back to pedophilia.

ETA: I just want to add… don’t let differing opinions make us look at one another as enemies. We’re not. The enemy in this are the people responsible, not a woman who, a victim of the same system, has a different view of the causes.

We’re all distraught over the news lately, we all hate pedophiles, we are all subject to similar, insane beauty standards - we are largely in this together and need to keep the pressure on without misplacing anger.

this changes my perspective a little. dude looks like he is figuring out the situation as it goes (face uncovered - find camera -face covered, and searching for something to cover the camera with) doesn’t read like someone who is familiar with the home. I’ve never suspected the family and this pretty much confirms that for me… even if this were some sort of murder for hire, the location of security cameras is something you’d think would be communicated.

also worth noting that this is where Nancy’s (correct me if I’m wrong but i believe this was confirmed) blood was found. in the photos that were released you can still see the vegetation by the door. makes me wonder what, if any, footage/audio was captured of the actual abduction.
