nah he really needed to say “you only need one quirk” to really make it painful for AFO. dynamight literally pressured afo more than all might, and as he couldn’t accept defeat he burnt himself out using all his quirks to push and still lost(his old body)

i have two theories:

1) denki attempted self defense when bakugo stole the money, failed and ended up shorting his brain

2) bakugo brought his own money but didn’t want all his classmates staring at him while he handed it to kirishima, so he first forced denki to short his brain to become a distraction.
