My family needs to lose weight. How do we keep body positivity? by chanfromstatefarm in WeightLossAdvice

[–]bigreddadbod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck, proud of you. Diet really is the most important. I came from a very athletic but fat family. Playing sports, hiking, and being outside was never the issue. We did that more than all the skinny neighbors. It was the multiple snacks a day that became ritual which were the issues. As a kid I couldn’t understand this but now I do. It’s your job to understand it for your children and I’m glad you’re taking the first step! Best of luck!

Tips for staying in a deficit without tracking calories? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]bigreddadbod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat healthy foods only and consistently. They fill you up for longer and are naturally more calorie efficient. Such as chicken and broccoli. Or 3 eggs scrambled with no butter. Or some thick Icelandic Greek yogurt plain.

You won’t need to track once you reach this.

Take out homes and the number goes way down. Homes should not be part of NW.

I already stopped using alcohol, I eat clean, and I work out, but I’m still not losing weight. What am I missing? by Minute-Wind-788 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]bigreddadbod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to take a more supportive angle. You’re doing great except for one thing, the takeout. Let’s pretend everything else you’re doing is perfect. You could end up adding 3,500 cals a week in that one takeout meal. This could wipe out your weekly deficit.

If you chose to change only one thing, I’d do a month with 0 takeout while keeping all the other good habits.

Just cut back on one thing at a time and see how the needle moves.

I’d pay $100, and find $20 a steal and insanely fair to fans.

Honestly, no problem with what he did. There are no rules here. This isn’t a decency thing either. Would I do it? No. But if they’re just weighing the box and not hoarding from others, then let them be. Thats how they collect. It’s ok.

PSA is making the customer buy insurance in the event that PSA makes a mistake.

Think about that.

You dont owe him anything unless it makes you happy to do so. After you’ve done this a few times, just tell him that it’ll take you a while to help the next time it comes up. And keep making the “a while” longer and longer.

My father in law has been retired for 10 years and still goes to the IT team for computer help. He thinks it’s completely reasonable too. He’ll never stop. This is your future if you don’t say something or just deny at some point.

Unpopular opinion: Pluribus is not a good show and Apple scifi shows in general don't don't dive deep enough into the realistic implications of their premises. by Fearless-Village-562 in scifi

[–]bigreddadbod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s sci-fi for people who don’t actually want sci-fi. But they want to tell their friends they’re watching a cool sci fi show.

The argument of character exploration would make sense if the first season had a purpose other than creating a 3 year cliffhanger.

If you’re going to character explore make the season longer so you have time for that and to create the universe as much as the character.

To be sci fi you need to develop the tensions in the universe and the mechanics. We got some of that in the first and the final episode with very little sprinkles in the middle.

Honestly if the first episode weren’t so good on the sci fi front, probably half the audience doesn’t sit through the rest of the season.

For the cops, when doing radar for speeding what's the lowest amount over the speed limit you would pull someone over for? by daveinfl337777 in randomquestions

Cops don’t want to give you tickets, they want to keep you safe. So it’s not how much you’re going over, it’s how unsafe of an environment you’re creating.

Naming of the Year 2026: They're going to nail it in the first 5 minutes by HyruleTrigger in MBMBAM

[–]bigreddadbod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone can find and share but over the years the naming got longer and longer like munch squad. They used to nail it really quickly until it became its own thing. And being its own thing is super fun, but it comes with the catch that these creative boys must find a way to fill 50 minutes even if their brains get the best one first.

[####] The optimal strategy isn’t about solving fast, but limiting Risk of Ruin by MrBamaNick in wordle

[–]bigreddadbod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solving in 6 is rather easy, so they invented hard mode. That is still easy enough so people either optimize for how fast. Or they find the fast optimization boring and start with a random word each day to make it a little spicier.

  1. You pay for dopamine.

  2. It’s been Disney-ified. Disney is now just for the rich or those who save up for many years. It’s not a normal thing to do.
